I agree with the poster that the Guess Who should definitely be in there and Cummings again on his own!!

T. Rex was not around that long unfortunately because I loved that band. Their lead singer, Mark Bolan, was sadly killed in a car accident (driver ran into a tree, Mark was the passenger). If he had lived, I am sure the band would have produced more? I am glad they are int he RRHOF. Mark left an infant son at the time. I heard Bowie supported him financially but did not want to be a "parent" so to speak so he was anonymous until well after the son was grown. Bowie's financial support provided for a top education for Bolan's son.

Not just The Guess Who, but also Bachman-Turner Overdrive! Per BTO's Wikipedia:

There may be some anti-Canadian bias though, as apparently there are only FIVE Canadians in the HOF: Joni Mitchell, The Band, Rush, Leonard Cohen, and Neil Young (who is inducted as both a solo artist, and as a member of Buffalo Springfield, though oddly not as part of the inducted Crosby, Stills and Nash, of which 'Young' was sometimes a part).

I honestly don't care about the RnR Hall of Fame because it's basically an ego trip for Jann Wenner and his sycophants friends. But it's a nice coincidence to see Kate Bush get in the same year as the Spinners, because the title of their song "Rubberband Man" inspired her to write "Rubberband Girl".

I'm not a Sheryl Crowe fan, but I would definitely class her as more 'rock and roll' than the other ones you listed. And I agree with @quartz above - it isn't really a 'Rock and Roll' hall of fame anymore. It's a general 'Music' hall of fame, which I'm not as fond of. I mean, if it were solely up to me, I'd have inducted so many Rock musicians before I'd start including disco or hip hop.

I believe the RRHOF is making a concerted effort going forward to induct more women (currently still less than 10% of all inductees) so I think Cyndi Lauper still has a pretty good shot even though she didn't make it this year.

Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore divorced after he had an affair with Eva Prinz, a book editor he'd been collaborating with.

The band broke up after that and have not played together since. I'd say there is a lot of bad blood between those two.

It would be terrible to have the band perform without one or the other (and I'm guessing if they chose to do it, it would be without Gordon). But some artists have chosen not to perform and have others perform their music - notably Madonna, who had fellow Detroiter Iggy Pop do her RRHOF performance!

As I’m from Cleveland, I’ve been to the Hall a few times, including a quick visit after traveling to Cedar Point a few years ago. It’s really nice and in a beautiful location during spring and summer, at least.
