ETA:Detroit, Michigan, USA - 1994 United States Figure Skating Championships, Pairs' Free Skate - Despite a shaky performance, Karen Courtland and Todd Reynolds were still able to hold off Natasha Kuchiki & Rocky Marval to win the Bronze Medal and earned one of the 3 berths on the US Olympic Pairs Figure Skating Team.
I thought Kuchiki and Sand went to 1992 Olympics and then broke up when Todd teamed with Jenni. Kuchiki/Marval? Anyway, I digress, this is about Todd Reynolds.Oh, that's sad. I remember there was some controversy over the scoring at the 1994 Nationals, because more than a few people thought Natasha Kuchiki and Todd Sand should have been third and gone to the Olympics. But Reynolds and Courtland were generally quite solid and very enjoyable to watch.
I saw those links but they looked AI/bot-generated ("click to prove you're not a robot") with no real info about his death? Some links to obituaries/stories about it
For sure they are. They both presented a bunch of spam pop-ups even on the phone.I saw those links but they looked AI/bot-generated ("click to prove you're not a robot") with no real info about his death?
I believe it was Kuchiki and Marvel, no? Todd had dumped Natasha for Jenny and Rocky and Calla Urbanski had ended their tumultous partnership, as well.Oh, that's sad. I don't recall anyone criticizing Courtland and Reynolds, other than to note they fell down numerous times. I do recall tremendous criticism of the judges.Nonetheless, Courtland and Reynolds got more criticism than they deserved for being placed on the Olympic team after a bad LP at Nationals.

Yike! I had no popups but that is probably because I have an ad blocker. For sure they are. They both presented a bunch of spam pop-ups even on the phone.
Meno & Sand (gold), Ina & Dungjen (silver) Courtland & Reynolds (bronze). Kuchiki & Marval were fourth. I was there and remember it well.Oh, that's sad.
