Musician Prince died early this morning in his home. He was 57. No other details have been released except he has been in ill health the past several weeks.

Just heard this news - he was scheduled to perform in Atlanta and had to cancel his concert due to illness.

His music, his style, everything about him was iconic of the 80s.

This is absolutely crushing.

Everything I've been able to read so far states that someone has died at Prince's estate, but that the identity of said individual has yet to be confirmed.

ETA: Thanks, Sylvia; that looks legit. Was hoping it wasn't true...his death is certainly unexpected and a huge loss to the industry. RIP.

My friends and I were talking about actors who were "cool" in their day and would be cool now. We all agreed on Steve McQueen. I think of Prince this way. He was a great talent and he has always remained cool. RIP.
