Brian Joubert with a conditional suspension of 12 months.

Quinze jours après avoir été auditionné, Brian Joubert a été informé de sa sanction par la commission de discipline de la fédération des sports de glace. Il est suspendu un an avec sursis de patinoire. Il indique ce samedi 25 novembre à France Bleu Poitou faire appel de la décision.

It is not deferred but the commutation of punishment into reprieve, and the term sentence signals a judgement. Ruling by an administrative court in France is a judgement.

The disciplinary commission who was handling the case left aside the accusations for which it didn't have any testimony or supporting material.
It only considered verbal abuse, and "light" physical abuse which parents of a skater involved denied.
The commission considered the inquiry about the case insufficient. For example, Joubert had not been auditioned.

There still is a penal procedure/ inquiry about Joubert's relation with a minor.

If your aim is to be as woke as possible, why not cancel yourselves, stop the award, and take away everyone’s awards? You can issue a heartfelt apology for your role in creating an environment of objectification and promoting the concept of porniness, which has strong associations with the totally upstanding porn industry, where nothing like sexual assault or violent behaviour ever occurs. Just a thought.

I’m finding it a bit rich that people are SHOCKED that “porny” individuals would do or condone the types of things these individuals are accused of.

The poll is to give the power to the people and so any karens can see I am not unilaterally making decisions... and nobody else wants to bother to do it. I don't care about being woke but yea unfortunately a lot of the winners have done scummy things so I am trying to not celebrate bad behavior is all. This is a very unserious award but its a fun FSU tradition to keep alive for those that don't take it too seriously or use it as a platform to attack... if people clamored for me to end PSOTY I would because I have a life and I don't really care

You can’t change the past, how can you lump all the above together they all did various different things wrong that aren’t comparable. Plenty of Russian skaters cosying up to the government but you don’t mention them and Kevin aymoz association with Fontana and Zimmerman is always glossed over.

PSOTY = Porny Skater of the Year: a title awarded neither on achievement or character (or lack thereof), it's just a random poll where members of FSU have voted a silly moniker onto good looking skaters.

I think this was lost in the debate. I suspect “porny” might be a new term for a few folks. No worries.

Throughout time - actors, politicans, sports heros, etc. get awards and or other names - have displayed horrific behaviors. It's best to just let them fade or put an ** by their names.

Look, you pathetic little troll... Aymoz has never won the PSOTY award, so why would we be bothered about his coaching arrangement? And, for what it's worth, Zimmerman actually was the PSOTY in 2002 and his title was vacated because of the Cipres scandal and his role in it. Get your facts straight before mouthing off.

Well, in the spirit of this "competition," I voted to dump Yagudin and Staviski.

Unless I've missed something, the alleged guilt of Joubert and Sorenson has yet to be proven, so I don't feel comfortable passing judgement.

On the other hand, Yagudin publicly wished death on another skater (Adam Rippon), and Staviski actually killed someone. I vote to dump them.

One of the conditions to be eligible for PSOTY is to not be a “SafeSport violator”, which could probably include violations found by similar organizations. I think if a violation is found, even through a “deal” to accept a lesser violation to avoid a hearing, then we know what to do here. Sorensen is still going through the process, and I’d wait until that process is done.
