I think many of you have forgotten that each fed pays for 1 coach only. So if the French fed paid for Romain that is why he was always with them. If MF or P happened to be at the competition it is because another fed paid for them!

Some of us VM ubers have enjoyed PC in the past and hope to enjoy them in the future. For me though VM is the sun in the firmament and PC a very bright star!

If Guillaume is ever on DWTS, the competition is over before it even starts... A Guillaume/Loic Nottet DWTS face-off would be more interesting.
I'm saying that, but Nathalie Pechalat came 2nd, while being the best dancer. Her opponent had a "better" story, and it's still a TV show :D
Wouldn't that be an amazing team - Pechalat and Cizeron!!!!

I am very open to that provided that they re-invent their themselves..... New choreography, new style, upbeat music.. etc.

Hoping to see them develop. They have the purest glide but that alone cannot stand by itself. I think she has a ways to go to hold her own especially because his movement is so superb.

I don't know why people minimize Gabby. She is incredible in her skating skills and emoting. I watch her more than him tbh.
I think he's technically stronger, but that doesn't mean she's not also strong technically, and also a better dancer, but she's a very good dancer too. I think she's more expressive. They both have their strengths and work together well.

Taking a break now would be a sensible decision if that’s what they opt to do. 4 years is a long time. It’s hardly as if missing a GP circuit would affect their results either- look at how they did after they were forced to sit out late 2015.

I thought they’d already confirmed staying in Montreal? I don’t see how MF & P could have done any more for them this quad.

I’ve long thought V/M should have taken 2010/11 off. Tessa’s shins needed a proper break, and the two of them just looked so over it and burned out by Sochi. I completely believe them when they say they truly were done.

I remember them saying that the Olympics takes 1.5 years to recover from.

I think they didn’t want to miss a year and let D/W get too far ahead.

I'm exhausted catching up reading this thread, my word, from 1 to 8 pages in the space of one week  That has to be a new record for a P/C fan thread.
But now bitterness has been expressed, can we go back to a more appeased tone ? P/C were the most ready ice dancers of them all starting with a bang at CoC and never looking back. The dress well, that was badly handled by everyone imo and I'll never understand that. It cost them the Gold and they'll have to live with it now like they said in an interview, it will always piss them off, but they have to move on and I think we do too.

In their new EX (the revamped "Build a Home") does anyone know what the very first song is ? Cannot find it ...
It sounds like Patrick Watson is singing though.
I found it yessssssssssssss Soundhound is the best really. So here goes, it is a beautiful version, I think I prefer it to the original https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q-TWgfHmNo

And talking about music, I'd like a program on Sunshine. "Kaneda what do you see ?" (Not the greatest movie, but there is something really poetic about it) mixed with another John Murphy soundtrack on 28 weeks later

For once we can talk about things almost ALL fans talk during competitions (for those who go to competitions), let’s continue to exchange and talk! AFAIK, every member has the freedom to choose the topics he wants to be involved in or not. And no one should prevent the others from talking/exchanging on topics they are interested in.

The number of comments shows the level of interest and the variety of opinions. I really like the general tone and the fact people are adults enough to agree, disagree and argue politely w/o insulting each others.

I could not step in yesterday but will do tonight for sure, I need to answer to some members who asked me questions and I would like to elaborate a bit on the rich and definitely interesting and pertinent posts from Icetigger.

Sure, everyone should express their opinions but sometimes it turns a bit into rehashing tbh. Once we've expressed something and talk it over with say, someone who shares a different view, I feel there is no need to go on and on and on for many pages. Let's face it two, or more but it's often two people, arguing to no end are not about to convince each other. So while expressing a variety of thoughts and feelings in this thread, be it of frustration, bitterness or anything else, is absolutely fine, posters should know when to stop repeating themselves. Otherwise, it's just arguing in circles which is counterproductive as it might deter many other posters to contribute hence killing the variety of opinions you rightfully said was so important in your post. But again, it's just my personal view on it. I'd love to read your thoughts, as you have an insider view on the whole situation which is much more than any of us here, when you have time to put them down of course. It will hopefully shade a new light on the subject enriching the discussion.

I think this is a great thread and I've enjoyed myself very much. I think it's important that any team look critically at their coaching staff and fully understand the range of issues that might be present there, and look to bring in any necessary changes either to bring new positives or limit/get rid of negatives. It's a positive and intelligent discussion to have, and moving forward, it's one that G and G should be having.

(and once the discussion is had and conclusions are reached and practical measures are put in place, then one can actually move forward in a positive way albeit one that comes from knowledge and understanding)

I understand however that it's not for everyone.

Know how? Because you tell them so?

People repeat themselves all the time IRL as well. It's just the way that conversations go.

I'm not the poster you are speaking to, but will say that people do argue in circles all the time IRL. Why should a conversation forum be any different?

And I do feel I get a variety of opinions on this board. I find FSU to be a very dynamic, diverse and interesting community.

But, I sometimes also enjoy the :revenge: between a few posters.

Especially when a poster (at his/her peril) tries to tackle AG (where's she been?) on the subject of scripture. :)

Wow, thank you! That is so beautiful!!! I could cry that it stops in the middle of the program but what we get to see here is Gabby and Guillaume at their best. I love the way they touch each other, the tenderness. And their lines in skating is so sublime - just everything. This is still to date my favourite FD (MS is close) so it´s a gift to see it again. This music seems to be composed for them. Now I know what I´ll do the rest of my day :)

Of course not because I say so but it can be tiring and I just wanted to say so which is an opinion like any other ;) Have you never felt like saying let's move on ? But obviously more often than not people won't listen to you because what would they ? And it's perfectly fine. So you're right my post was making a moot point in the end, sorry for that :shuffle: but I guess I just got a tiny bit frustrated.
As for this Forum, of course there's a great variety of opinions, I've never said otherwise, it was not my point, my moot point :D I even defended this very forum in this thread couple of pages earlier for having many posters sharing such a wide range of opinions.
Last, I don't understand your reference highlighted in bold, who is AG ?

Have you never felt like saying let's move on?

Often, yes. But other times I'm the dog that won't stop gnawing at the bone!

Last, I don't understand your reference highlighted in bold, who is AG ?

AG is/was a long-standing member of FSU who used to deliver well-laid out and persuasive arguments in the Politically Correct forum of this board. I think she may have been a biblical scholar, because anyone who argued the Bible/scripture with her did so at his/her peril.

Anyway, your failure to know her indicates that she's been gone for some time (presuming you're a relatively new poster) - perhaps gone for good for whatever reason.

I am still at a loss at how people think P&C got the shaft this season.

Truly. I don't understand. As stated above, from CofC on they were equipped with the most prepared programs and had a string of world records. V&M played catch up and H&D worked on trying to be consistent.

It makes me think that some people wanted preferential treatment for P&C for it to be "fair" to them.

And if it was because the coaching team was politically correct in media... how is that preferential?

And if Marie-France was not at every comp of P&C in the kiss and cry, while also not with their top competitors.. that means they were some how shafted??

As I said, I truly don't understand this view. I see it as only an opinion...

The link for pics. My favourite is Gabby in the top right black and white head shot. Great pics all of them though.

There was one of G&G jumping in the air in black and white that was amazing too! Probably my favourite of the 2.

Yes I agree I don't see what they could have done more.
But then that's an opinion based on what we witnessed. We can't comment about the atmosphere in Gadbois and whether it was optimal or not. Everything seems to say that it was but who knows. (And I mean nothing concrete by this comment, just that there're a lot of things we will never know)
