Is that necessary? I know people think they're being clever and cute when they do that, but as a gay man, I find it petty and gross especially when the person is in a relationship with a woman.

All I know is that it's an amazing thing to say about (or against??) straight men. My late grandfather LOVED to bake, in fact he was a ship's cook in his youth and ended up serving as a Naval chef for over 20 years - cooking, baking cakes and cookies, etc. AND he enjoyed musical theatre along with my late grandma! Same for my youngest sister's bf and all five of my nephews! :D But then some members of my family are or were actors, singers, etc. including my late maternal grandma - musical theatre was just part of the deal!

(movie review by woman who also writes for rogerebert.com, she mentions Mirai in her review).

Wow, Best movie of the year for her, and top 3 for the guy ("hypnotized by the movie", "thinking about this movie ever since I saw it.", "I just loved it.").

Sound like this movie and "Call Me By Your Name" seem to be getting the lost attention here in L.A.

Mirai is making a public appearance today at the Downtown San Jose Ice Rink from 7-8:30 pm: https://www.nbcbayarea.com/on-air/c...re-Skater-Mirai-Nagasu-at-the--463464713.html

ETA:

She's guest starring in "A Winter Wonderland" show in Peoria, Arizona on December 16: https://yourvalley.net/yourvalley/y.../az-ice-peoria-brings-national-champion-town/
This production of the classic holiday tales will feature special guest skater, Mirai Nagasu, U.S. national champion and Olympic figure skater. Adults and kids from across the Valley are invited to enjoy a cup of cocoa and take in this one-day-only show with performances at 2 and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16.
AZ Ice Peoria’s most elite skaters and skating academy students join together, performing numerous group numbers. Additionally, Ms. Nagasu –who will compete for an additional U.S. national title and try to qualify for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics in January – will be opening and closing the show with her exhibition numbers.

Mirai is doing Reddit Series today at 1:00 pm EST https://www.instagram.com/p/BcpUL26nS7e/?taken-by=mirainagasu, no idea how it works, it seems we need to register to the page https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/

Reddit is plain confusing to me. I guess her post will pop up on the link chapis posted in 24 minutes but she is not listed on the schedule on the right side.

The most interesting things to me was that she said she does plan to compete next season (though I think she has said within the last year that she would never say a season was her last, because it would put too much pressure on herself) and that someone had looked up her information and saw that she was one of the most drug tested US athletes this year (?? I didn't click this person's link, did anyone look at this? Mirai didn't know that this information could be found either apparently, haha).

She already said on her Instagram story after the Japan Open that she wasn't stopping after this season. I do remember her saying that she would never say which is her last season though.

Thanks! I do remember her instagram story that she did from the Japan Open, but I couldn't tell at the time if she was just correcting what the commentator had said re: it being her last season. Anyhow, Mirai answered a lot of the reddit questions, it looks like she had fun.

^ Fazes, not phases. (Pet peeve.) Otherwise I agree! It sounds like she intends to have a normal life after skating, but it would be fun to see what kind of commentator she would make. I don't think she would ever be mean, but she would be insightful and make us smile. :)
