Finished Wednesday and loved it! But must admit it took awhile for me to truly get into it plus the opening swimming pool scene did not help. That is a HUGE NO NO NO for me. (Violence in high schools and safety of staff and students have been a big topic of discussion here) Detective Wednesday rocks and I am sure there will be a season 2.

I could tell from somewhere in the middle of the series who the monster was

Ohhh I loved Criminal minds. There was a lot of times I blocked my eyes and chanted “scary mary “ to my husband. A lot of it was like scary, realistic stuff with women.

I finished The Crown season 5. It was okay but only okay. Still think Charles is getting to good edit.

I started My Unorthodox Life Season 2. I’ve lost respect for all of them except for Miriam and Aron.

I watched the Christmas movie “The Noel Diaries.” Plot was very weak but it’s okay for a Hallmark Christmas type of thing.

Was cracking up laughing at one point as someone named in the movie has the same first and last name as my grandmother’s oldest brother.
I really liked it!!!

I'm watching Darby and the Dead on Hulu. She can see dead people and spends her time helping them with their unfinished business. Then her high school frenemy dies in some sort of freak hair straightening accident and needs her help.

I am guessing that this will be some sort of ghost helps the living while the living helps the ghost story. My prediction based on the preview. But it does look cute enough to pass the time while I clean up the kitchen and start dinner.

ETA: sort of cute but forgot how annoyed I get when Barbie doll popular chick helps the nerd girl become Barbie doll popular. I want one where the popular girl learns how to be a nerd girl.

The free, online publication "The Ringer" is doing the "25 Days of Bingemas." "The Noel Diary" is Day 2. Here is the idea behind Bingemas:

The Ringer’s 25 Days of Bingemas is a guide for people who love original holiday movies; it’s a guide for people who hate original holiday movies; it’s a guide for people who occasionally watch these movies and want more; its a guide for people who never hope to watch these movies but would like to watch one writer descend into madness as she attempts to differentiate between 25 unique forms of holiday magic, 12 different fake countries, and eight different male leads who make you wonder, Wait, is that the guy from Mean Girls? (It isn’t, except for the one time when it is.) Every day for the next 25 days, Jodi Walker will feature one of this season’s 169 original holiday movies, answering a curated series of questions in order to showcase the genre’s masterful formula, the dedication to chaos, and the commitment to consistently widowing lumberjacks that launched an entire genre of TV movie. On the second day of Bingemas, we turn our cheerful spirits to…

What are we watching?

The Noel Diary.

And it goes from there.....

Ugh! I wish these services would release the entire series at once so we can binge it. I am anxiously waiting the last episode of "The Peripheral" ---irritated that I must wait and decide to take a look-see at "Three Pines" based the mysteries of Louise Penny and we just have the first two episodes of that series. :angryfire Am I able to wait six weeks to see Chief Inspector Gamache? NO.

I loved Wednesday :cheer2: So much fun! And Jenna Ortega is such a great Wednesday.
It's just much too short.

I'm also watching the last season of Dead to me, it's really captivating and I adore the friendship between the main characters, but
the storyline around Judy is very sad and giving me some anxiety while watching

I saw the documentary about the little Rover Opportunity on Amazon Prime is available now.

The Amazon documentary Good Night, Oppy is so good. It is really amazing what the NASA scientists and engineers accomplished, and the two rovers, too. They built some autonomy into their systems and there is a funny moment when one of the rovers stops dead in her tracks and sends a message that it can’t continue because it detects a hazard. The message back from NASA: That’s your shadow. You can continue.

Disney is using crappy covers of Metallica for Willow. I was all excited to hear the opening strains of Enter Sandman only to get not Metallica. :drama: I'm all for women in rock but the voice is too pretty to do Enter Sandman. I need more Joan Jett, Patti Smith or Blondie. Something raspy and rocky. I don't know how to describe it but it's just not quite the right fit between voice and song style.

That means someone will skate to it shortly.

I started watching the 90s sitcom Mad About You on Amazon Prime. When I was younger, when the show originally aired, I wanted to get into it but I couldn’t. or Maybe it was just so understated compared to other NBC shows I watched like Friends and Frasier and it was about something so specific that I couldn’t relate to it. Now that I’m older, married for some years, living in New York, etc. I have to say that this show is really good and relatable as hell. I just put it on to see what it was like and now I’m sucked into it. It really is about the small moments in-between the big or dramatic events between a couple…or as Paul Reiser and Danny Jacobson (co-creator) pitched it to NBC execs, as capturing the moment where the couple leaves the party and reveals their true selves to each other after experiencing something with each other.

Also, Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser really do work extremely well together. Casting directors yearn to hit that kind of jackpot with regards to chemistry (not just romantic but overall including comedy and small moments) between actors.

Mad About You came out when DH and I were in college and just dating. It ended two years after we were married. I don’t remember when we started watching but probably around 1994 (I didn’t own a TV my first two years of college) and we loved it so much. Might be fun to rewatch but I have such an aversion to laugh tracks now. Wish they could edit that out.

Apparently Paul Reiser didn’t like it either but of course the laugh track had to stay. But he was successful in editing out the “awww”s from the audience. He thought they were so horrid and every time the live audience did that during live taping, it send chills down his spine. I’m glad he did because it would have cheapened the show.

As for the laugh track, I just pretend I’m watching a taped performance of a live one-act play with every episode.

I'm watching Great Chocolate Showdown on Hulu as well as other baking contests on the Food Network. Such creative people: I don't think I've ever tried ruby chocolate.

I started watching 'Lost In Austen' on Britbox. I wasn't sure I wanted to keep watching after the first episode as it was making me cringe, but I persisted and now I must know how it ends.

And we're re-watching 'Chuck' on Amazone Prime. It's funny and light so good for the end of tough work days.

Mad About You fans, they all returned to do a short series a few years ago. I don't remember which streaming service that showed it, but it was...interesting. Not the same heart as the original despite having the same cast, but it was fun.

The Mad About You reboot is on Spectrum. I started watching it when I first got Spectrum, but I didn't finish all the episodes as I got bogged down with current shows. Someday I'll go back to watch it. It just felt dated (like when Will & Grace rebooted) but it still was fun to watch. Their daughter is now in college.

I have. It has a slightly sour edge. Watched Snacks vs. Chef which challenges them to recreate an iconic snack in the first round and then a newer snack using the same concept. They are so creative.
