Watching the 3rd season of Blown Away, the glass blowing competition. Still don't know how they do what they do, designing and handling glass at up to 2000 degrees!
Thanks for mentioning this; I watched the first 3 episodes of season 1 the other night. I’m hooked.

finally, finally getting around to Stranger Things S4. Got through ep 8, clocking in at 1:40. Finale is over 2 hours long!! will have to wait until tomorrow.

I miss real episode recaps from back when entire seasons (or partial seasons) weren't dumped at once - really hard to find good analysis of a specific episode at all, but especially when trying to avoid spoilers.

Also - these kids are so much older than they're playing now . Good thing Will isn't much of a presence because, bowl cut be damned, his voice is super deep now and in one of the most touching scenes with Mike, I was distracted by Noah Schapp's 5 o'clock shadow. At least they gave Lucas a complete makeover this year, because the actor was clearly headed toward manhood in S3.

We are losing Netflix on 8/5. It’s okay, I think we spend more time looking for shows to watch than actually watching shows. But we just found Derry Girls, which is awesome! We also rewatched the last season of Lucifer one more time.

I took a break from Netflix, but once the new (and final  ) season of Derry Girls is available on this side of the pond I will be reactivate my account...because then I can watch the new season of Virgin River and I also want to see this new Shania Twain documentary.

I know what you mean. Since you are past Part I, there are good recaps and "things you missed" about the first part of the season on YouTube.

Street Food USA dropped today on Netflix and I can’t wait to watch! I LOVE this stuff! There are countless channels on YouTube dedicated to street food around the world and I love watching the vendors do their stuff. Some of them are so skilled it is amazing!

P.S.
Canada do not have a street food culture unless you count the occasional hot dog vender and the rare food truck.

And for today's Netflix recommendation of "Watch in One Weekend" shows: How to Build a Sex Room. It reminds me of when they had a naked Michael Bolton on the thumbnail of his special.

Things I really don't want to see at all.

ETA: I did find something to watch on Netflix. It's called Living With Yourself starring Paul Rudd. He plays a burned out husband that undergoes a treatment to better himself and finds himself replaced by a better version.

I finished “Irma Vep” on HBOMAX and found it enjoyable and surreal. Showing the making of a modern series based on an older version was interesting and the bit of fantasy that comes with character exploration is lovely.

Finally got round to watching The Boys season 3 and absolutely loved it. Someone obviously spent a lot of time correcting Carl Urban's cockney accent because it was pure Michael Cain with only the odd drop into Kiwi  i did half think it was a little over the top but a friend told me that she read that in the original comics he apparently does have an over the top cockney accent.

I also thought the actress that play Starlight had so much work done it was distracting - she's had so much filler or whatever put into her cheeks her eyes don't look like they fully open, which is quite weird when they often make her eyes flash when she's using her powers.

I watched an interesting series PBS streaming called "Capital." Based on a novel, every resident on a certain street in a racially, economically mixed neighborhood in London constantly receives postcards stating "We Want What You Have." And it goes from there....part mystery, part character study and well cast. It is nice to watch something different for a change.

Have you seen the original film starring Maggie Cheung? If so, I’d love to hear your take on how it compares to the film.

Just started watching “The Most Hated Man on the Internet” and boy… This series is so scary and disgusting! Remember a story from Italy about a victim of revenge porn who took her own life. But oh boy did this guy P.O. the wrong mom! She reminds me of the mama bear who took on a much larger male bear to protect her cubs!

Sadly, I knew nothing of the history of Irma Vep and it certainly has a rich history. I do want to see that version now.

Lollapalooza is streaming live on Hulu. There are people dancing to Clozee and so into the music they don't care how they look. Some occasionally notice the roaming camera in their face and give a wave. Then you have the girls that are aware of where all the cameras are and try to do sexy grinding while managing to look the complete opposite.

So I got a free month of Prime to coincide with Prime Day - been trying to watch all I can of Prime Video in that month! I have about a week left. So far I've caught up on a few series I watched the last time I had Prime. Watched Season 2 of Upload (love that show), Season 5&6 of The Expanse (season 5 was fantastic, season 6 was good but short and sad it was canceled cause there were a lot of leftover storylines), and Season 2 of Undone (interesting show, though confusing - hard to know what's real or not, but I guess that's the point). Then I watched the John Cho movie Don't Make Me Go - enjoyed it - hard to talk about without spoiling too much, but really like John Cho! Watched A Quiet Place II since I never saw it - seemed very short, not as good as the first one of course - hard to have the heart that one did, but it was still enjoyable. And I'm currently watching the first season of The Summer I Turned Pretty - in the middle of it right now and I really like it. Heard there will be a season 2 so will have to get Prime again some day lol, especially cause there were some other series I want to try, but don't want to start anything I can't finish in a couple days.

Watching "The Most Hated Man On The Internet": Netflix.

I'm surprised this little pr*ck is still alive.

His followers...no comment. Just disgusting.
I just finished watching it too. Charlotte Laws is one brave woman.

It makes me wonder why people are so enamoured with narcissists and think these people are of value. But to the point of bullying and abuse of those would stand up to them and then issuing death threats. Reminds me of a particular orange turd.

And for today's Netflix recommendation of "Watch in One Weekend" shows: How to Build a Sex Room.
I started watching it and was pleasantly surprised. What makes it works is not really the shock value but how (at least five episodes in), absolutely likable every single person is--the contractor, the couples/septuplet (?), the designer, the extra people they bring in to make the rooms possible. The show is kitschy and cheeky as hell, but it's fun rather than out-and-out vulgar. The people wanting the rooms are completely and utterly believable. I also want a cross-over with House Hunters because I am genuinely curious what that does to the value of a house and how evangelicals would react to these rooms

I also watched Stuck Together, a French comedy* about the initial lockdown. It has horrible reviews, but I really liked it. I understand the bad reviews, but it's enjoyable. Given that, I also decided to try Lady of the Manor because I like Justin Long, Melanie Lynskey, and Judy Greer despite its tragic reviews. Let me spare you: the tragic reviews are more than justified. I think it's 30% on Rotten Tomatoes, and even that is too high. I made it for 35 minutes and was mad at the universe for watching it that long. I was genuinely angry. So now I am watching all the French stuff Netflix has to offer--French real estate. Lupin. Call My Agent (loooove Call My Agent). The Paris Murders. If it has a long-shot of the Eiffel Tower, I'M IN.

The Finder is on Disney+

This was a fun show that was canceled because of the death of Michael Clarke Duncan. His character was so essential to how the group worked that it was just impossible to replace him with someone else and continue. It's a shame because it was a quirky show that was just fun. It ended on an cliffhanger because everyone was expecting to continue on. It makes me sad to think what this could have been.

Michael Clarke Duncan played Leo Knox. He was a former attorney that was grieving the loss of his wife and child. He quit his job and opened up a bar called At the Ends of the Earth. He is the heart, soul and humanity of the cast. He collects and saves disparate people who are misfits and don't have anywhere else to go. Impossible to replace. :(

Geoff Stults played Walter Sherman. He was n veteran with a head injury that compelled him to find lost things. It was implied that a bad breakdown would happen if there was ever anything he couldn't find. He warned clients that he would often find things they didn't ask for but what they needed. He doesn't solve murders. He would only find things that interested him. One lost item was the rest of a lost conversation. The rest of the cast frequently had to find ways to get him engaged in cases that were personal and important to them. This is really what made this a fun and quirky show. What did the clients ask for and what did Walter actually find for them.

Maddie Hasson played Willa Monday who was brought up to be a thief and an outsider trusting no one. She is serving out her parole working for Leo Knox at the bar.

Mercedes Mason played Isabel Zambada, a US Marshal who is always pulled into Walter's crazy cases.

I sort of want someone to pick this up again but it also wouldn't be the same with a different cast. I have mixed feelings about that. This show was based on a book that I got from the library and couldn't finish. The book was a lot less fun and quirky than the show. The book is how Leo Knox and Walter Sherman met and the show carries on from there. They don't really have to reference the book because the show stands up on its own.

ETA: I forgot to mention that this was sort of a spin off from Bones. Dr. Lance Sweets and Dr. Jack Hodgins make appearances and I'm sure other members of the Bones cast would have shown up if the show had been able to continue.
