Binge-watched Ekaterina II on Prime. I really didn't know anything about Catherine the Great, but this started to fill in the blanks. An intense ten part series. Thought it was well acted

I longed to watch the Netflix Gilmore Girls extra four episodes. I enjoyed two of them but the new series made me view some characters more negatively and miss Edward Herrmann’s terribly. And the never ending fake Broadway show was beyond painful for me to watch.

I didn’t regret watching them as much as I did watching Veronica Mars S04 (nothing will ever come close to that) but still...

Trailer for Umbrella Academy season 2

The Old Guard will be released this Friday.

@Cachoo Hulu is still offering a 30-day free trial (I'm considering it...).

"Palm Springs" on Hulu is getting rather awesome reviews. I don't have Hulu. :(

What is it about? I need a new show. I am also thinking of giving The Dark Crystal another chance. I wasn't into it the first time I watched it, but my friend says the first episode is slow but then it gets more interesting.

It is a movie that is compared to Groundhog Day. That is all I know about it other than a lot of good reviews.

Netflix added an extra episode of Lenox Hill filmed from mid March until mid May-ish. It’s less about the patients than other episodes and more about the toll on the doctors and staff. It was stressful to watch, but quite moving.

The Old Guard just came out today on Netflix and it's excellent! Would recommend - also, watch out for the credits scene.

And congratulations to the director, Gina Prince-Bythewood; she is the first Black woman to direct a comic-book film. She rocked it! :cheer:

HBO Max hasn’t really advertised the fact that they have some films from the Criterion Collection. I would be marketing those like crazy. Not the entire collection, but for those who don’t already have a subscription to the Criterion Channel, it’s a great way to watch some of the best films.

That said, I’ve spent the past few days rewatching both seasons of the HBO Lisa Kudrow show The Comeback and it’s such an eerie experience. Watching season 1 filmed in 2004 and seeing the more whacky and lighthearted tone matching her filming a network sitcom and then seeing the second season filmed in 2013-14 where she’s doing a HBO dramedy where the happenings around her also get darker, it’s really surreal and some of the best commentary of where we are in terms of entertainment and audience expectations from those times. Plus, it works as a time capsule as well. I really forgot where we were at in 2004-05 and seeing how it contrasted with 2013-14 made this show pretty brilliant, even if it was a bit unintentional. Also, Lisa Kudrow is simply a genius.

The Comeback is THE best. My tagline on Instagram is actually from it. (I need to know that I'm being heard. Am I being heard?)

And it's funny to watch the first season and see how many reality stars/shows/storylines have turned the same direction as this was mocking-- way before its time and so under-appreciated!

We are watching Modus on PBS. The storyline so far seems just okay (a bit too deliberately mysterious), but I am loving the wintry Scandinavian milieu and Christmas decorations. It’s kind of incongruous but fun to watch during our current hot and humid July weather.

Before that, we watched The Great. It was absurd, but mostly entertaining until the last episode, which got pretty dark.

I've watched both seasons of Modus. I enjoyed both, particularly the first. But then I a sucker for Scandinavian detective stories. :)

I have PBS Passport, which is great because I can watch all episodes of my favorites at once, rather than one per week. I recently finished the new season of Grantchester. It was better with Sidney, but at least there is still Geordie.

I also like the Walter's Choice programming on Passport. I have just started watching season 2 of Professor T, which makes me smile (except for poor Daan, of course).

I’ve been working on Gilmore Girls for many months and FINALLY I’m almost done with the last season. When I started I thought, “Starring Nancy Kerrigan and a Sasha Cohen/Mariah Bell hybrid.”

Two episodes in season 6 of Grace and Frankie and there’s something off about this season. The writing seems to have taken somewhat of a sharp decline south.

I started seeing it advertised on TV the other day. It's from NBCUniversal, and it's free - Peacock: Stream TV and Movies Online, Watch Live News and Sports.

It's where you can binge-watch TV shows and hundreds of movies which is right up my alley. Anything free is awesome, and I like it better than Crackle. :biggrinbo

I was excited to check it out yesterday when it debuted only to find out that neither a Roku nor Amazon Fire carry the app. The two streaming devices I own. 😬

FYI, not everything is available for free on Peacock (all the Dick Wolf shows over the years will be in the premium area that you have to pay for) and I'm with @TanithandBenFan on being irritated that they released this thing and it's not even available on all platforms yet.

It REALLY irritates me that neither Peacock nor HBO Max are available on Roku. I have an actual Roku TV, so there's no real way to get around it. :(

I am thankful they kept Geordie & Leonard on Grantchester. Don't like the character of Will, at all.

Love Professor T., as well but will miss Dean a lot.

We don't own a computer so don't stream but we do have Acorn on X-finjty. Lots of great series there, old & new, mostly British, Scandanavian & some Australian. We have been binging there on old Midsomer Murders, about half way through the 21 seasons then we will pick another series.

And, surprisingly my younger sister has become enamored of 65 year old Hopalong Cassidy tv shows. She wasn't even born then. I watched them as a child back then. 😁

Finally finished watching “Crash Landing On You” and while it was an interesting series it really requires a level of commitment as most of the episodes are 90 minutes or longer and there are 18 of them.

Asian drama life. They really do test your patience some times. I think most Asian dramas I've seen would be stronger if they were half their lengths. I do like the "fluff" because it can set up deeper character relationships, but so much of it is shrouded by unneeded complications and issues that would be avoided with basic human abilities in communication - and I'm taking cultural issues into account.
