Neko Atsume kitty collector -- any other addicts?

Fastest mementos for me were Guy Furry (4), Xerses (5), and Conductor Whiskers (6). Frosty took 18 visits.

I thought I was doing well with the rare mementos but now that I've catalogued them I've still got a ways to go: still waiting for Chairman Meow, Joe, Mr Meowgi, Lady Meow Meow, Ramses, Sapphire, Jeeves, and Sassy Fran. But I haven't had the pyramid or hammock out for ages, and only bought the café yesterday. (one visit from Sassy Fran since then but I missed her) Still, Joe and the Chairman have visited often enough, they should be coming through with their mementos any time now ...
 
And then there was one ... In the last 24 hours I've received mementos from Chairman Meow and Frosty. I now only need Conductor Whiskers to complete my primary game. :cheer:

The difference timelines for mementos between my two games has been interesting. I received one from Ramses after 16 visits in my secondary game but it took 63 visits before I received it in my primary game. :drama:
 
Today's password was "rythmic" [sic]. My autocorrect wasn't happy about that. But it further evidence for what I've suspected for a long time: cats are notoriously bad spellers.
 
Now that I'm just putting out things that I know will bring a rare cat, I'm getting more regular cats, more rare cats, and more gold fish than I was when I was rotating things to try and get their first visit.

I'm going to try to see if I can ever have all the spots completely filled. I've been close but even when I had 13 cats, there was room for 2 more.
 
Ramses gave his memento yesterday. But, I am getting annoyed. I have had no toys out except those that are specifically connected to one of the rares for over a week. I have had out sashimi, bonito bitz, ritzy bits and tuna at least twice each. Except for Ramses & Xerxes, and one visit from Guy Furry - no rares.
 
They have stopped coming to me too. I had a whole bunch, and now nothing for over 2 days. Not that many regulars either.
 
I've had Mr Meowgi come 6 times in the past 2 days. The most fishies he's left is 3 silver. And still no memento. Grr.

And I've missed Sassy Fran 3 times now, still no picture of her. But the café is quite the gold mine, so to speak, all the other kitties are very generous with that particular toy.
 
I spent almost all my gold fish, got Sapphire and Jeeves to visit...and missed them. :wall: And now I don't have enough gold fish to lure them back. :drama:
 
Yes, it seems like you have to leave their goodies out for ages before they will come.

The cats have returned to normal visiting for me today. After a couple of days with only one or two cats per side, I've now getting three to five, and I've had two rares in an hour.

eta- Ramses just showed up (after I replaced ritzy with frisky), so that makes 3 today. Most successful day for me.

Sassy Fran has now been 5 times and I've missed her every single time!

But I got Mr Meowgi's memento (after 24 visits) so at least I can put away his log.
 
Fran is being very Sassy with me -- up to 9 visits and I still haven't managed to catch her in the act! That's worse than Peaches!
 
I got Jeeves's memento. :cheer2: Will be glad to stop shelling out on Deluxe Tuna so hope Sapphire follows soon.

No sign of Frosty though and I have just about all the items out. :(

And Ms Fortune is currently at 66 visits.
 
I finally got Ms Fortune this week!!! So just Sapphire and Frosty who's still been MIA. When I get Sapphire I'll try using salmon to see if that helps.

I'm in a pretty early stage on my second game (I forgot what a pain waiting for the expansion is!) so I'll keep playing regardless of if they update.
 
I feel like I haven't gotten a memento in a while. Still waiting for Bob, Peaches, Chairman Meow and Ms. Fortune. Sigh.

Thanks! There is a part of me that wants to uninstall the game and start over but there are goodies and decors I haven't bought yet so I'm playing around with those for now.

I'm a Brit mystery fan and I've been watching old Poirot episodes lately. It cracks me up that the cats little mouths look just like Poirot's mustache. :lol:
 
I've had the items that bring Jeeves and Sapphire since the week they were made available. And had them out fairly often, with expensive food, but I've only had them visit three times so far. It is going to take months at this rate, to get their mementos.

Has anyone noticed any other details to the yard setup that will increase the likelihood of having them visit?
 
^ I don't think so. I have found that sometimes they come back a bit quicker if you switch the tower from inside to outside and back again. But again that's not a reliable pattern -- there are so many things about this game that are random, and that vary enormously from one player to the next. So even if I found something that worked for me it wouldn't necessarily work for you.

I've had the tower or the parasol out (but mostly the tower) pretty much continuously since the upgrade, and Jeeves & Sapphire have only come 10 times. *shrug*
 
I've actually finally had a decent few days. After having no rares visit for days except Ramses and Xerxes, whose mementos I have, in the last few days I've had Bob the Cat, Joe DiMeowgio, Mr. Meowgi and Ms. Fortune. Joe DiMeowgio has actually come several times and yesterday gave me his memento.
Ms. Fortune I seem to keep missing and not getting a picture.
The only rares I've haven't had visit now are Jeeves and Sapphire, but I've not put out either of the toys that attract them at this point.

Welcome to the club. :)

I've been setting goals to keep the game interesting and the first one (which you may have already accomplished) is to get pictures of the rares on all their special goodies (if they have more than one). I'm almost done after capturing Mr. Meowgi on the Sakura pillow over the weekend. Frosty is proving to be quite elusive though. I haven't been able to attract her to any goodie other than the snowy pillow.

I had them visit quite a bit in the past week or so. I've had the expensive Deluxe Tuna Bits out all the time, as well as both the parasol and the tower of treats.

Not counting Frosty (who I've also only seen on the snowy pillow) and Tubbs (who hasn't been attracted to the giant cushion at all), I think I only need to get Saint Purrtrick to visit the Kotatsu to get photos of the rares with their alternate toys. All the others, I managed to get on both toys (if they have more than 1) before getting their memento.
