Ok, maybe it’s just me watching juniors and wanting seniors. Or wanting more Hana Maria and Daniil in juniors. These guys could place well in seniors!

Busy first day back at work -- I just got here in time for the last team. i din't know if they got really close during the twizzles or it was the camera angle, but I thought Abo/Ves were going to crash into each other! But they gave their usual performance. Hana's such a diva at 15, I can't wait to see what we get from her in the coming years (knock on wood)!

It’s kinda a crapshoot choosing programs for a brand new partnership. Often by the end of the season, the team will have outgrown the program or will look like they would mesh better with different music/choreography. In this case, I think R/R do okay with this program, but could perhaps do better with a more lyrical piece.

Let’s see how they’re packaged next season now that their coaches/choreographers have a better sense of who they are as a team and where their strengths lie.

Hana and Daniil look like they dropped into the wrong event and didn't realize that their senior event doesn't start until Thursday! Goodness gracious, Hana is such an amazing diva and Daniil is so solid presenting her that they continue to be in their own class! I got a little nervous after two couples in the final group had big errors, but these two just keep knocking out A+ performances! Congratulations to them and their team of Melissa Gregory, Denis Petukhov, and Oksana Grishuk! Also want to give a shout out to their new couple Aneta Vaclavikova & William Lussauer, who placed an impressive 5th in the RD despite skating first!

It might be for next season (do we know what the required rhythms will be?). R/R’s RD music this season matches their smoothness, but perhaps there is a mismatch in the funk interpretation. ETA: FWIW, I think that Mouaden/Bigot’s interpretation of this piece was stronger than R/R at the JGPF. But M/B have been a team for a lot longer. And juniors is a great time to explore lots of styles to discover what works best and also to have to do certain required styles in the RD to expand teams’ abilities.

I have enjoyed watching this competition more than any of the senior grand prix events. The concept just works better with the junior requirements and they are getting way more into it than the seniors.
