I'm a little miffed that the USFS couldn't pony up the cash to get them to commentate for the Novice Pairs (and presumably Ice Dance), lol.

No skating for me until junior dance tonight -- I'm all tied up at the office all afternoon. Best wishes to the skaters -- I'll be watching the PBP, at least!

Kovar/McPike - she stepped out on the SBS 2a; hand down on the throw; really nice ice coverage and security from him on the lift - he's improved a LOT since we saw him last year at the Winter Youth Olympic Games with Cayla Smith. Not at all bad for a new team.

Lovely costumes for our first group. Tights are an issue, but it’s juniors, so I’ll just assume that’s the color she always buys. Nice spin to end. Good start.

I thought they look really good for a team that i know has been together for a pretty short amount of time. Hopefully they stay together because I think they could go places.

Glad that McPike has continued with pairs after his previous partnership split.

Hope Smith can find a good partner soon, too.

Milada had a nice split with one leg in their 2twist! McPike has improved a LOT - covered a good amount of ice in their lift. Milada’s brother Kai (competing in Senior Men) threw stuffies on the ice for her. :)

McFarland/Andjorin - 2tw - good height; SBS 2a - she turned out on hers; good height on the throw; not sure she got her head down low enough for the death spiral to count; this feels like a lot of improvement for them since the Pairs Final - nice lift to end on.

Whoa. First time seeing this pair. He looks like he wandered in from the football game last night, but his axel is neat and tight. He’s got a beautiful camel, too. Very impressed.

Yeah I thought they looked very improved too. Good for them!

Some nice matching lines, strong lift to end, basics could use more ease, pretty good overall

Nice job by Gottschalk/Herbert - you may have heard Jim Peterson’s shouts of approval after they landed the sbs 2A & throw 3S! ;)

Gottschalk/Herbert - they're a Peterson/Evora team. 2tw - good height but a bit hinky on the landing; SBS 2a - nicely done; nice throw 3s - they have really nice lines & posture; he's a little slow on the lift but got through it; death spiral was a bit of a struggle; cartwheels on the ice during their step sequence! SBS spins are not the element they should have ended on - weakest element of the program.

GotHer have perk and speed, but he kept looking at her like he forgot the choreo. I preferred McAnd

Not sure everyone will agree but I'm enjoying Gracie's commentary. I like her dry delivery and she seems pretty supportive of these kids.
i love her. I'm waiting for someone to complain about how much she's talking lol but i don't mind it at all.
