Joseph Druar RIP

There is a factual error in the obituary. I sent the following message to snbc13 (the publisher):

The brief article written by Michael Scott that discusses the death of ice dancer Joseph Druar states that he and Susie Wynne were victorious in both the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and the (ISU) Four Continents Championships. This ice dance team had retired years before the first Four Continents was held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1999. They were victorious at Skate America and the Trophée de France during the 1988-89 season.

I knew him when he and Susie came to Ardmore to skate under Richard Callaghan, who was new to us also. Susie and Joe were teenagers. The group included Craig Maurizi and a very young Todd Eldredge, who might have been 10 when he started there, and all were my introduction to competitive ice skating--sort of blew my naive mind. Age sixty is way too young to die, so sad.

What sad news!.60 is far too young to die. My sympathies to Jor's friends, fans, and family.

I particularly remember Wynne & Druar's 1989 Charleston OSP at World's. Toller Cranston did the commentary and just loved their program. He felt they best captured the spirit of the Charleston!

I am so happy it is still on YouTube:

That Charleston OSP caught Susie's and Joe's personalities perfectly!
