Joel Schumacher, famed American film director, has passed away

Variety: Joel Schumacher, Director of Batman Films and “Lost Boys”, dies at 80.

RIP I didn’t know he had cancer for the past year.

Schumacher was the director of many blockbuster films, including:

• St. Elmo’s Fire
• The Lost Boys
• Flatliners
• The Client
• Batman Forever
• A Time to Kill
• Batman & Robin
• Phone Booth

And others that I’ve probably forgotten. I believe that Schumacher helped launch the careers of actors like Kiefer Sutherland, Colin Farrell, and Matthew McConnaughey.
