Carandiuc/Carandiuc

a little slow through twizzles and she lost levels, dancing in place with stylized 90s moves in midline, having a difficult time negotiating the patterns, emerging edge quality--the kids are alright!

There was some discussion in Dance Hall about Frankendances in this year's Jr RD, but I think the two patterns work okay together; plus this is the technical program and having to do the held movements of the rhumba, and the fast steps of the quick step is a nice way to show mastery of different skating techniques.

Levy/Llorente

More Backstreet Boys, she's looking nervous with the long wait for the start of their music, she completely loses first twizzle and has to put foot down--so only base for her, rushed the quick step, having some fun in the midline, a lot of polishing to do, learning experience

Hienne/Varescon

nice carriage, good matching legline in rhumba (2 key points), so much more glide and flow than we've seen so far today, started midline a little far apart, but then got pretty scary close so need to work on spacing, nice performance quality

Yucel/Pak having a blast out there! She especially has a lot of personality.

Yucel/Pak

solid twizzles, lots of interpretation/arm movement during the patterns but not hitting the key points, kinda reminding me of the Peals--performing but not necessarily hitting squeaky clean turns and deep edges--high energy program

Abo/Ves a little slow in places -- they need to get that speed up and get it consistent. But their usual sharp, gorgeous performance.

Aboian/Veselukhin

good rhumba pattern (2 key points), a bit hunched over in quick step and struggled with the timing, level 4 twizzles, laying down in the middle of the midline, which breaks the flow, a little off in unison today, expressive rotational lift, performing with confidence and panache

Deych/Hu

looking for redemption after their error in RD in JGP #1, they come off a bit sweet for Latin, concentrating through the Rhumba (2 key points), nice quick step (2 key points), nice twizzles today (3& 4)!, strong basics and technique, need to continue to work on expression and making it look and feel natural

I’m surprised TES so close to Abo/Ves, I’d have them slightly below French.

ETA judges agree.

Technically, they hit (and A/V had some timing problems, etc.). But, as expected, their PCS lagged behind the French and well behind the other Americans.

Yamashita/Nagata

very close in size, not looking very comfortable through the rhumba, negative GOE on quick step, too, midline performed with more ease than the other elements

After 2 of 3 groups we have an ice resurfacing.

Good skate by Anderson/Dawson. Their performance quality is strong. Tech was a little above Abo/Ves when the box went off the screen! Wonder if that'll last ...

Anderson/Dawson

very nice unison through rhumba, nice straight line lift, would like to see more expression from him, she has this effortlessly cool vibe, nice power in their skating, I think I liked the French better today, though

After all 3 groups, today's competition is complete.
