Germans with Aznavour - she's in orchid pink, he's in a dark grey with a greenish tint and his shirt looks inspired by Paul Poirier last season. Very careful on their twizzles. All of their skating is... I don't know if tentative is the right word to use. They have solid basics but they just really haven't had enough time together. Next season they could be a team to keep an eye on.

Blaasovi - kept their Avatar program from last season, apparently. Her dress is mostly teal green with some ombre to royal purple on one shoulder and the same purple ombre on the opposite side of the asymmetrical skirt near the hem. His tunic is also teal, though it ombres into a lighter aquamarine at the hem. And they've got some crystals. And their FD is much better than their RD from yesterday.

Baby Swiss #2 (last week was Baby Swiss #1) in royal blue velvet with gold trim - black pants for him and black tights for her. He looks like he's a cousin of Stephane Lambiel from afar. Lots of gliding around, not much Irish-esque dancing until they do their twizzles. They may as well be skating to anything for all the "Lord of the Dance" they're giving here, lol. Oh, character step sequence and we finally get an Irish jig a la SinKats and PateBye.

I really liked Tscharner/Wiederkher’s lifts. Nice attention to the theme but the music running away without them a bit once Lord of the Dance kicked in (especially the choice to do boardography during the speedy finale).

So many Bond programmes already this season…

ETA: Zakova/Mencl a step up in skating skills and maturity from most of the young teams here, but that fell apart at the end.

Zakova/Mencl - he looks totally winded in that 2nd lift near the end. That lacked all the swagger necessary for a Bond program. They're going to drop a lot in the standings.

Weren't Briere/Levesque from Canada somewhere in there? How'd they do? Or does the lack of a mention mean I shouldn't ask? :shuffle:

They are currently sitting in 2nd place, having skated better than in the RD. They are just up from Novice.

Vaclavikova/Morozov - sapphire blue with silver squiggly lines in crystals. Their music is making me doze off. They're very, generically, sweet and soft.

Ovsiankina/Rahier - Four Seasons and their costumes are really wonderful. Her dress is mostly orchid and navy with some aqua - lots of chiffon strips and ruffles. His shirt is an ombre of navy, dark grape and teal. I love these costumes. And the fact that they're not using the typical selections.

ETA - oh, that curve lift at the end was such a unique position!

Program kind of peters out at the end but really exquisite nonetheless.

Both had little problems on twizzles, nice levels on midline, cool lift toward end of program, good choreo steps

I really like R/L's costumes, although those side cutouts don't add anything.

Renzi/Lissaur - these costumes are much. teal with lots of gold, and he looks like he's wearing a knight's metal armor suit's shoulder pads and breast plate, and both of them have metal forearm cuffs. Or, well, not really metal, but that's the fabric/stoning effect. They seem to be skating okay but this is another time where less would have been better because the costumes are such a distraction from the program. Oh, a bit of boardography to push off and start their character step sequence. How original. Said no one ever.

Renzi/Lissauer

Deliberate through the elements and will want to continue smoothing out and integrating the choreo, Renzi’s giving lots of facial expressions! Nice to have some less used music

Baby Belgians - "Be Italian" and "Cinema Italiano" from Nine - basic black for him, her dress looks like she took Emilea Zingas' FD dress from last season, dyed half of it black and removed one sleeve. They've improved a lot since last season. Cute enough program.

Nice matching movement, held the sliding move, but kinda slow getting up from it. Oh, and she’s bleeding

Have Ted or Mark explained why, on the boards, the word “OSTRAVA” is followed by three exclamation marks? “!!!” Must one heck of a city.
