JGP #2 Ankara TUR - Pairs SP & FS

I quite liked Dion/Cote, especially the fierce way they went into their SBS spins going forward and the steps. I loved her floral dress.

I would bet the French couple was affected by the fall. I could see he was being very careful in how he let her down. I think that he basically came to a stop while letting her come down.

Massive, incredible throw followed by falling on a double Axel. Yep, Chinese pairs.

Oh dear, down on the second throw.

Nice recovery from the falls on the Salchows to add the Axel to the toeloops to create a sequence. I wish they'd held the final position a little longer. Hopefully that's something their coaches will talk to them about.

Another very young team competing here. Their pair elements were a bit simplified compared to other teams but they completed them very cleanly.

There speed really stood out. Lifts had nice flow, and ice coverage, but the throws are clearly a work in progress.

The first throw, and the twist were beautiful, but the quality didn't sustain through the rest of the program. Really hard to tell for certain about the call on the twist. The camera angle is looking at Rui's feet, and it looks like a quadruple twist, but not easy to count rotations with that angle.

Just re-watched the final group. Thought the 2 Canadian teams had it over the USA and CHN teams as far as connection to the music and each other. For whatever reason, Reagan Moss had this beaming smile on her face the whole time skating to a song about murder and suicide. The Chinese team definitely need time to mature and grow their presentation skills imo.
As for the triple/quadruple twist, I rewatched the slo-mo replay a couple of times and it looked like a triple to me. Somewhere on one of threads or maybe just on a skating podcast, someone (vague enough) said there is no challenge allowed once the marks are in. I thought a challenge is allowed for a specific length of time if the challenge is for a wrong element call. What did the Chinese team put on their list of elements submission to the judges? Doesn't seem to me there is any hint of concern about it from the Chinese.
