JGP #1 - Riga LAT - Pairs SP & FS

CZE girlie is shellshocked that they are FORTH. Good job to them, they clearly didn't expect that!

Romane Telemaque/Lucas Coulon 🇫🇷
Age: 15/18

Triple Twist 3 - poor quality catch

2A
Back Inside Death Spiral 2 - loss of speed
Step Sequence 4
Reverse Lasso Lift 3 - lacking speed, turns were rough
Change Foot Combo Spin 3

-1.00 = Fall(s)

A bit rough with the technical elements. I didn't get much from the performance, and their seemed to be more choreography after the program then during.

43.69 = 8th Place

Solid skate. Though some of the elements are clearly still in the early phases of development they also had some elements that looked quite refined.

The twist was impressive. The rest of the element were a bit of a struggle, but given their ages this is to be expected.

They were very pleased with their performance which is always nice to see. The elements are a work in progress, but they have some strong basics.

Not sure about the position in the lift - not the most aesthetically pleasing. Nice performance, and use of the music.

Strong performance, and solid technical elements. They were bringing the quality we have come to expect from Chinese pairs. Nice to see personality one, and off the ice.

A performance with a command, and smoothness that we didn't see from the rest of the competition. Still things to work on, but a solid start to the season.

The second half of their programme wasn’t even that bad - they got it together. I hope they can sort out whatever’s going on, because these devastated KnCs are worse than their rough skates.

Liget-Latus/Fisher are practically unrecognisable from last season, in the other direction.

Chen/Dong - R&J with dramatic death. It’s cool that they’ve both got 3F, but I think keep them out of the programme until they can at least attempt some unison and not jump in different corners of the rink. They have good foundations but everything about this screams new to pairs, will be interesting to see where they get to in a couple of seasons if they stay together.

McDanold/Felberbaum - "Moonlight Sonata (Epic Version - Attack on Titan Style)" for their music. Fall on the SBS 2a for her; fall on the throw 3f; first lift was slow across the ice (sloooow); SBS 2f+1a+1a - okay then... BODS - lv 1 but fine; same for the combo spin - well, that was a lv 3, but nothing remarkable; and she pops the throw Loop into a single; second lift is much stronger. I think this is going to drop them behind Liget-Latus/Fisher and maybe even behind TelCoul overall.

Gosh a lot of sad pairs in the kiss n cry but they are juniors and I’m sure the season will get better.
WOW the new Chinese pair I love them! Shame for the Americans but I do see the potential

Ice resurfacing underway after 2 of 3 groups.

I've actually come to like Another Love, having been stockholm syndromed by skating programmes for long enough. However, these editing choices by K/K are totally incomprehensible.

WilLew - "Music" - I hate this song.

3tw - very nice; SBS 3t - she fell, he turned out of it on the landing; first lift - solid; SBS 2a+1a+1a - alright; throw 2s - fine; choreo seq - fine; throw 2f - also fine; second lift - quite decent; BODS - really good; combo spin - not the worst one I've seen to end a program.

They'll easily earn bronze; but I'm rather surprised they're only attempting throw doubles as I know they had one that was semi-consistent last season. Mark's telling us that WilLew "need a certain result" to get a 2nd JGP. Well, I'm certain they'll get at least bronze here and secure a 2nd JGP assignment (likely Gdansk).
