Not going to go back and read the entire thread, but has Jeremy indicated any possibility of returning to competition for 2018? He had left the door open in comments he made early in 2016. With so many athletes pulling from the US Championships this year, I wonder if he has seriously contemplated returning to training.

He has been training while contemplating it, and will probably be making his decision in the next couple of months, that's the latest information I know from the last month.
There was an article or might you say interview done with him last fall too. http://olympics.nbcsports.com/2016/09/23/jeremy-abbott-figure-skating/

I believe his sister, Gwen, filmed this video of the 2/3/17 McCall show: https://www.facebook.com/IdreamofJeremy/posts/10154381584366158
Keegan Messing appears around/after the 15-minute mark and Jeremy performs/rises on the hoop(!) around the 43-minute mark and closes the show (eta: refer to post below) with "Peanut Butter Jelly (one of his SOI numbers last year).

His sister was running the live stream. Also, Jeremy didn't close the show with "Peanut Butter Jelly," which was only the end of the first half of the show. He closes the show with "I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz, that video can be found here https://www.facebook.com/IdreamofJeremy/videos/10154381698806158/

From all of his planned show and seminar commitments, then, should one presume he is not aiming to compete next season for a spot on the US Olympic team?

From the SOI music list published online, Jeremy's 2 new programs for Stars on Ice are "Land of All" by Woodkid and "In This Shirt" by The Irrepressibles. He is also featured in a group number (with Ashley, Gracie & Adam) to "Bright Lights" by Gibbz.

We can presume, yes, but Jeremy has not made any public statements on this topic recently that I'm aware of.

Yes, he hasn't made his announcement either way yet, so I wouldn't presume anything at this point.

Those are his new programs, he performed "Land of All" in the Japanese SOI tour this past winter, and he announced the other piece quietly this past week. :D

Do you know who choreographed "In This Shirt"?

he performed "Land of All" in the Japanese SOI tour this past winter
I found his 2 Japan SOI televised programs:

"Land of All" by Woodkid, choreographed by Benoit Richaud: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr0PMlUanRo
Costume/look designed by Brady Lange: https://www.instagram.com/p/BS1FnHAD5PI/

Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" choreographed by Jeff Buttle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGx9chMeG9M

Jeremy was invited to skate in "The Legends" show on 14 January 2017 while in Japan for Stars on Ice.
He will be reprising his "Exogenesis Part III" program.
Broadcast by TDP (Portugal): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMDI95jkIC8

Re-posting 3 good quality videos from the 2017 Stars on Ice thread:
Minori Yanagishima posted two videos on Jeremy Abbott's "In this Shirt" [by The Irrepressibles]:
(Seattle) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiXkn2titOw
(Wenatchee) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjAcS5fgDYY

The introduction video for his performance is really interesting.
"Land of All" by Woodkid (filmed by Minori in San Jose) - his first half solo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_DYn9uZ6iI

From Michelle Kennedy's Seattle Stars on Ice review:
Jeremy Abbott Creates a Work of Art
Jeremy performed two very unique programs at Stars on Ice. Both of his performances reminded me of a piece of art. Some may find his creation strange, while others may be fascinated or moved. It was a dangerous and bold move on his part to try something so different. Jeremy could have easily performed a beautiful program that most would find relatable and enjoyable, but instead he chose to push the boundaries of his artistry. I appreciated the risk he took to bring something to the audience that wasn’t generic, but was rather unique.
In practice, he was executing beautiful triple axels. Jeremy informed me that he is not currently working on the quad toe, but is working on his technique for the triple toe, which he believes will translate to the quad toe. Abbott has not competed since 2015, but feels that he still has more to give to the sport. He has been spending time choreographing programs, performing in shows and visiting New York for artistic purposes.

I loved that "in this shirt" programme. The only minor thing that stuck out for me is that I think he should get some white boot covers because the lines would look just that little bit nicer with the white going all the way down his feet :)

I, too loved the " In this Shirt" program. Kind of sad Jeremy didn't do the comeback skater thing for the GP. But I guess if he's not practicing quads there's no point. I wish there were pro competitions we could see Jeremy in

You realize he hasn't made his mind up yet, and he didn't say he can't or isn't doing quads overall, just that he's focusing on his triple toe technique to fix the quad toes.

But- if he's not on the GP earning points-there isn't much chance of a Worlds or Olympic assignment.

I wonder if he wanted a GP slot but USFS refused.....

If he decides to come back he could be assigned the empty TBD slot at Skate America.
He can also do the Senior B route to qualify.
And then there are byes.
