Will we be able to hear music during the JGP streams…or will Ted or Mark keep their fingers on the mute button?

Will we hear music during the Senior streams or telecasts?

I don't see any reason why we won't since those comps aren't subject to the USFS' license. None of those events are happening in the US and the ones that are would fall under the Peacock contract.

ISU tweeted that their JGP streams are moving to their main ISU youtube channel. They used to have a separate channel for the JGP.

Hmmmmm... Interesting decision. It's sort of a shame since Ted worked so hard to build up the subscriber base to over 100k on the JGP channel, but I think it makes good sense to have all the content on one channel rather than siloed. Spit-balling here but I'm guessing it will improve user engagement levels to have more regular content for a lengthier part of the year, plus it is one-stop shopping for ISU skating content.

There's no reason to believe that the Junior Grand Prix will be geoblocked. Junior Worlds was shown on the main ISU YouTube channel, and it was not geoblocked.

I wouldn’t assume any geo blocking. I don’t think the jpg is included in any purchased broadcasting rights? I’m sure it will be available as usual.
Correct. The JGPF also was not geo-blocked and it would have been more likely to be a part of any purchased broadcasting rights since it is held in conjunction with the GPF.

Kudos to those who correctly predicted the new team of Pedersen/Starr would be assigned to the same JGP as Wolfkostin/Tsarevski! Also - what's the deal with Slatter/Ongay-Perez? They're clearly healthy enough to compete, so I'm not quite understanding the strategy of BIS in waiting until the last 2 JGPs to send them out.

There are more Pairs teams than Dance teams here!!!! Two new Italian pairs teams!

Interesting to see Holichenko/Darenskiy doing one JGP. I'm not sure that makes much sense (I did check and they are, just barely, still young enough to compete jr this season). They're a good enough team that I'd have had them doing 2 JGPs and likely making the JGPF where they can earn some prize money. Also, does anyone know what's up with Sierova/Khobta? That's the Ukrainian team I expected to see on the JGP this season.

Quattrochi/Desmarais are currently entered in 3 JGPs - Czechia, Turkey & Poland. My guess, since Skate Canada doesn't have them on their assignments list for Turkey is that they're going to Czechia & Poland.

Women & Men - no major surprises here.

There are more Pairs teams than Dance teams here!!!! Two new Italian pairs teams!

The 2 new pairs are
Melissa MERRONE / Alberto TOMMASI
Elisabetta PROFAIZER / Matteo Libasse MANDELLI

Tommasi was already in Pairs. He competed in 2022/23 in B events (Nice, Bavarian Open, Challenge Cup). Marrone comes from Single.
Profaizer also come Single. Mandelli was an Ice Dancer (Galimberti/Mandelli who also competed at Junior Nationals). The ID to Pairs path is quite unusual.

So the situation for Italy is

Sarina Joos: Riga and Ostrava
Noemi Joos: Bangkok
Ghezzo: Ankara
Pezzetta: Gdańsk

1 spot in Lubjiana and 1 Waxi left. I guess Pezzetta will get a 2nd JGP. Then for the final spot it may be one of the various girls listed as subs so far (Agostinelli, Minighini, Barucchi).

Zich: Ankara
Di Tria: Riga
Profaizer: Ostrava

This is easy to predict.
Spot left vacant in Bangkok. There isn't an Italian spot in Waxi. So I guess Zich will get the spot in Lubijana. Zich, Di Tria and Profaizer are the only men listed as subs in various stages. So there isn't anybody else considered.

Polman/Renoldi: Ostrava and Ankara
Napolitano/Comi: Ankara and Gdańsk
Merrone/Tommasi: Gdańsk
Profaizer/Mandelli: Gdańsk

3 spots left vacant in Riga, 2 spots left vacant in Ostrava and 1 in Ankara. So the strategy seems 2 JGPs to the partnerships already active last season and 1 JGP to the new pairs.

Tali/LaFornara: Riga and Bangkok
Finelli/Bucciarelli: Ostrava and Gdańsk
Petracchi/Basile: Ankara

That's 1 spot in Lubjiana and 1 in Wuxi. Soldati/Tagliabue (5th at Junior Nationals last season) and Bianchi/Rota (who were in Advanced Novice last season) are the subs for earlier stages. They may get the last 2 JGPs, but a second JGP for Petracchi/Basile (3rd at Junior Nationals last season) is also an option.

S/OP didn't appear to be at the BIS dance camp in June, which was around the time - if not the when - the JGP spots were allocated. S/OP were always going to get two spots, so if (and this is speculation) they were off ice for a while earlier in the summer because of injury/illness/whatever it would have made sense to give them the last events. They're clearly in shape now, and there's still time to swap them with Hairsine/Surenkov-Gultchev either in Gdansk or Bangkok. I agree that back-to-back events with intercontinental travel in between doesn't seem ideal!
Mandelli was an Ice Dancer (Galimberti/Mandelli who also competed at Junior Nationals). The ID to Pairs path is quite unusual.
But unusually popular this season! with Mandelli and Alex Lapsky on the JGP, and Davide Calderari, who was in the YOG ice dance competition, on IPS looking for a pairs partner.
