Yes, super glad to see Kemp/Elizarov on the list (and Canada assigning 3 pairs, after just one each for the first 2 events)
Yes, I was a bit surprised at that since Turkey can't be that expensive of a trip. Are Ash or Atl injured?Looks like GBR didn't use a dance spot. Sigh.
They’re still on the start list for this week’s BIS qualifier. Are Ash or Atl injured?
I don't see any reason why we won't since those comps aren't subject to the USFS' license. None of those events are happening in the US and the ones that are would fall under the Peacock contract. Will we be able to hear music during the JGP streams…or will Ted or Mark keep their fingers on the mute button?
Will we hear music during the Senior streams or telecasts?
Hmmmmm... Interesting decision. It's sort of a shame since Ted worked so hard to build up the subscriber base to over 100k on the JGP channel, but I think it makes good sense to have all the content on one channel rather than siloed. Spit-balling here but I'm guessing it will improve user engagement levels to have more regular content for a lengthier part of the year, plus it is one-stop shopping for ISU skating content.ISU tweeted that their JGP streams are moving to their main ISU youtube channel. They used to have a separate channel for the JGP.

Channel for the JGP was not geoblocked. So this means we have to have VPN for the JGP too.ISU tweeted that their JGP streams are moving to their main ISU youtube channel. They used to have a separate channel for the JGP.

The ISU can put whatever settings they want for each video.Channel for the JGP was not geoblocked. So this means we have to have VPN for the JGP too.
There's no reason to believe that the Junior Grand Prix will be geoblocked. Junior Worlds was shown on the main ISU YouTube channel, and it was not geoblocked.
Correct. The JGPF also was not geo-blocked and it would have been more likely to be a part of any purchased broadcasting rights since it is held in conjunction with the GPF.I wouldn’t assume any geo blocking. I don’t think the jpg is included in any purchased broadcasting rights? I’m sure it will be available as usual.
Men -
Is this some sort of oversight or is the US really not sending any men to this.
We only have 6 men's spots this year and Poland is the one JGP that we can't send enter any men.Is this some sort of oversight or is the US really not sending any men to this.
Page 14 of this document says how many spots each country has and at which events. (Based on results from 2024 jr worlds). Is this some sort of oversight or is the US really not sending any men to this.
at one point I'm sure I knew that but it still seems so dumb. There must be a better method for determining spots than the current one.We only have 6 men's spots this year and Poland is the one JGP that we can't send enter any men.
I don’t remember if it was confirmed anywhere but it’s been heavily rumoured for a while that they’ve split. Also, does anyone know what's up with Sierova/Khobta? That's the Ukrainian team I expected to see on the JGP this season.
Definitely hasn't been confirmed but it wouldn't surprise me given the severity of her injuries. I hope he can find a good new partner.I don’t remember if it was confirmed anywhere but it’s been heavily rumoured for a while that they’ve split.
There are more Pairs teams than Dance teams here!!!! Two new Italian pairs teams!
S/OP didn't appear to be at the BIS dance camp in June, which was around the time - if not the when - the JGP spots were allocated. S/OP were always going to get two spots, so if (and this is speculation) they were off ice for a while earlier in the summer because of injury/illness/whatever it would have made sense to give them the last events. They're clearly in shape now, and there's still time to swap them with Hairsine/Surenkov-Gultchev either in Gdansk or Bangkok. I agree that back-to-back events with intercontinental travel in between doesn't seem ideal! Also - what's the deal with Slatter/Ongay-Perez? They're clearly healthy enough to compete, so I'm not quite understanding the strategy of BIS in waiting until the last 2 JGPs to send them out.
But unusually popular this season! with Mandelli and Alex Lapsky on the JGP, and Davide Calderari, who was in the YOG ice dance competition, on IPS looking for a pairs partner.Mandelli was an Ice Dancer (Galimberti/Mandelli who also competed at Junior Nationals). The ID to Pairs path is quite unusual.
