In Memoriam

Lisa Loring has also passed away ... she was Wednesday on the 1960's "Addams Family". Condolences to her friends and family:

I just saw this in the Guardian. The article was talking about the influence of Wednesday as a character and then mentioned she had a stroke and passed away.
 
It feels like 2016 again, where celebrities seemed to drop like flies...

But I think it's going to be a bit of the norm, somewhat. As entertainment has evolved, the number of famous people has grown exponentially compared to the '50s, '60s and '70s, first with the advent of more channels on Cable TV (MTV/MuchMusic included), and then reality TV, and now influencers, etc. etc. etc.

Carlos Saura has passed away

I remember being blown away by his film Carmen. I hadn't seen anything like it until then. It felt so down to earth, completely believable (and not a glossy Hollywood dance film at all).

I think so many of us who were first introduced to Raquel when she was in one million BC film, might forget all her other films/accomplishments. Her business of wigs - which I believe still existed for women undergoing chemo or hair loss from other conditions. Her comedic roles.
 
Raquel could also sing and dance, and entertained American troops. Her iconic role as a sex-symbol steered it in a different look than that set by Marylin Monroe and Jayne Mansfield. Raquel singing
