So apparently it was Meghan's decision to ask Prince Charles to escort her down the final part of the aisle as it was always the plan to enter the Chapel surrounded by her bridesmaids and pages and then meet her father originally at a certain point and now Prince Charles to walk the final part with. That sounds as if the bridesmaids and pages will be corralled at that point.

Also good to hear Prince Philip will be in attendance.

Given everything that's happened to the poor girl, I'm glad it will be Prince Charles. Way to step up and tell the world that Meghan has a new family who is welcoming her with open arms. The next King of England no less is stepping into the role!

Just watching the coverage of the crazies fans in and around Windsor Castle - love the young Aussie woman who has just arrived in the UK, wearing a wedding dress and huge gold tiara and carrying a placard reading 'It's not too late Harry' and explained to the interviewer 'I live in hope he'll change his mind and here I am all ready to go'

There's always been a special fondness for Harry here, maybe because he never seemed to take himself too seriously, and then he went and actually served in Afghanistan, and he seems like a genuine guy. That's a pretty good combination if you want popularity here. I know there was some suggestion the last time we needed a new Governor-General it should be him. That would have been kind of neat.

The phenomenon of young Aussie women wanting to marry Harry is definitely not new  Especially after the Mary and Frederick romance, there were lots of girls who hoped that maybe they would bump into Harry at a bar...

It seems to start at 6pm tomorrow night. I might pop it on, just to see what she's wearing. And yeah, I'm one of those Aussies with a very soft spot for Harry. He has a heart of gold.

I've never been much of a Charles liker cause I never understood his whole "I must have a mistress" but he is a good father and it does send a message that even though Thomas Jr and Samantha are eville, Meghan herself isn't and is totally welcomed.

OMG - just put the news on and an utterly nutty American has just informed the reporter that she thinks of William and Harry as her sons and that she was there for William and Kate's wedding so just had to be there for Harry and Meghan's and that Meghan had better look after her son :yikes:.She was just so OTT and the reporter was a bit lost for words . Wow there really are some utter crazies fans out there!!

Apparently she has already kissed him twice so she knows that we are 'all missing out'

As for Harry - thankfully he appears to have put his other self to one side and the Harry and entourage that regularly visited Cornwall, and which my family members & their friends who live there experienced first hand, is firmly in the past. It wasn't nice.

:yikes: There was an article from the Montreal Gazette tweeted about a Prince Harry obsessee on the West Island, I haven't read it for fear of it being too freakish.

It's sad how cynical I've become these days that I rolled my eyes at an American woman (who IIRC had married into British nobility) interviewed on BBC Morning saying how ingrained it was to Americans that you can be anything and achieve anything.

Oh, joy, we have Psychic Sally on TV predicting that Harry & Meghan will have three children, two girls and a boy and she thinks two of them may be twins :p

Yes Harry came very close to falling totally off the rails at one point what with his drinking, partying and marijuana usage. And after the trauma of his mothers death at such a pivotal point in his life is it easy to see how he could go off the rails. Being the younger brother he didn't have the destiny that awaits his brother William so took a while to figure out his path and joining the military really gave him a focus and probably saved him from himself. I think that's a reason so many people are delighted he has found someone to love who appears to make him happy as most can recall that solemn faced little boy walking behind his mothers coffin.

Yes, thanks for the info! It lets me know that I'm not alone with crazy relatives, and makes Meghan feel more relatable. A sad commentary, but true.

I went to St Georgeโ€™s chapel in February. Itโ€™s weird, half the guests wonโ€™t see a thing due to the layout. I guess Prince Charles will meet Meghan at that point where it kind of closes off.

Royal Wedding fever has hit Greece big time- bars are all advertising โ€œHARRY AND MEGHAN LIVEโ€ wheeeee!

From what I read, it is not forbidden to have the mother walk down the aisle with the bride, and Meghan seems to be very close to her mother, why didn't she ask her mother to walk the aisle with her? I don't understand why did she ask Prince Charles instead.

I wondered the same.

Her mother is riding over to the wedding in the carriage with her as originally planned, and I'm guessing she will be with her tonight and tomorrow morning, so it's not like she doesn't have a role.

It's possible her mother didn't want to do more, as she doesn't seem to be the type who likes the spotlight. I would think it would be very intimidating, going past all the crowds, stepping into such a history-rich chapel, the long aisle, the hundreds of people she doesn't know, the cameras everywhere, the very weight of the Royal Family itself.

She may have well asked her Mother and her Mother may not have been comfortable with it - who knows. One of the reports on the BBC seemed to imply that was the case as a KP spokesperson had mentioned that Doria was very happy with the arrangements. Meghan's reasons for asking Prince Charles may never be known but it was her choice.

Doria finally has tea with the Queen today - I thought she went yesterday but that was just the bridal party having a rehearsal - and from what I read the parts with the bridesmaids and pages didn't quite go as planned - duh - 10 children aged under 10 will never do what you want at the same time - could be fun tomorrow:D:rofl:

And now suppose to be having tea with HM - along with Doria, William and Kate amongst others.

And one good thing I read from the article is that GMB have now decided to not feature the members of Meghan's parasitic family that they were originally going to be. Good - now get on a plane and go back home!!

Oh gosh. This reminded me of Jed Clampett's relatives that were on the plane. "Yee Haw!! "Let's all have some of that there Corn Mash!"

Because she's a grown woman and can make her own choice.
I don't understand why did she ask Prince Charles instead.
Because she wanted to.

Fabulous - Princes Harry and William have come out to meet the crowds who have been camping out in Windsor. This is exactly what they did the night before William's wedding as well - lovely tradition they have created here!!

However I am noting that Harry is starting to get that slight bald spot right on top of his head - - that's how it started for William!!

It's interesting but not surprising that Prince Charles is now going to walk Meghan down the aisle. This is an historic, royal wedding so every decision is made with that dynamic in mind. It would have been nice, but maybe too much a break from tradition for Meghan's mother to accompany her down the aisle. Prince Charles likely already feels fatherly toward Meghan, and she's been fully embraced and considered a member of the royal family well before the wedding.

I think the Markle family drama and tabloid nonsense has only served to strengthen the bond between Meghan and Prince Harry. I can hardly wait to see Meghan's dress, and the tiara she will don. She was wearing gorgeous diamond earrings in the car yesterday, as they were driven to Windsor Castle (perhaps a wedding gift from Harry). :D

I couldn't access the entire article, but I think it's pushing it to expect the Royal Family to provide that level of security etc for her extended family on the other side of the world. He is not their responsibility.

We should also not assume that Meghan has not been in close touch with him this entire time, or that he has not been fully prepared for this. After all, he was just supposed to show up and walk his daughter down the aisle.

And I hate that this is all we're talking about just three days from the wedding. :(

As I mentioned earlier, there's quite a lot involved re the Markle family relationships that we aren't privy to. As with any family, it's complicated stuff. That's part of what makes Meghan so interesting and admirable. She's such a positive, glass half-full person. No matter the extent of disappointing family and life challenges, she's moved forward with such brio, infectious desire, and determination. I suspect her mother's influence has been the most important factor in her life, even though she's always given her father equal credit.

I agree that it's a lot to expect the royals to babysit Mr. Markle. H&M were likely hopeful he would show up, and they have likely been in regular contact with him. But sadly, so have the paps, and apparently the meddling half-sibs. In fact, all of the Markle family members have been asked to not engage with the paps and tabloids. As we see from Meghan's carefully worded statement yesterday, she is not allowing this disappointment to dampen her spirits. I go back to my original observation: Her father let her down. The royals do not condone blabbing to and cooperating with tabloids, no matter how sympathetic and understanding they might be to Mr. Markle.

Moving on, Meghan has put this behind her and she and Prince Harry are sure to have a beautiful wedding. The excitement in Windsor is palpable. Most television reports have not focused too much on the father fiasco. Love will conquer all. :)

It started a month ago and will last for the next 50 years. There is NO ESCAPE!!!

 For many royal followers and Meghan fans, it started in November 2016 when Prince Harry and the Palace released the unprecedented statement confirming his relationship with Meghan, and warning the paps and tabloids to back off!

For Meghan and Harry, it began in July 2016 and was solidified in Botswana in August 2016. The rest is history. I doubt Meghan harbors any trepidation about needing to escape anything. She's walking into this with her eyes open, and from all evidence, with her heart soaring.
