OMG Simone has inserted that freaking "OH!" into another routine. That needed to be gone in Rio. She is amazing and all, but that grates on me like no other. The triple/double continues to be jaw dropping.

Hope Riley is ok. That foot turned in on the landing looked painful.

She looks a lot like Riley. Exact same hair color, leotard, and hairstyle. They were standing side by side with their backs to us during the warm ups. I wouldn't have known who she was if they hadn't pointed it out.

If you go by the increments of men's vaults D-score then potentially Simone's YDP could even be 6.8. It will be interesting to see what FIG do with it though. Given that it will be at the Olympics, if they low ball her D-score valuation the way they did her double-double off beam then that will create a real media stink I think so they may be more generous. Amazing - the one in warm ups just before was beautiful. Her floor absolutely sucks - amazing tumbling (apart from that last pass) withstanding.

They are pretty. And all of the girls have different accent colors. I love the neon.

It was fun seeing Chellsie Memmel compete again this afternoon. I don't know why, but I have just always liked her a lot. I thought she looked so solid and centered on the beam (except for that one fall) and with such nice line too. It is very cool seeing a 32-year-old compete like that! (And, I must say, she is in incredible shape, especially considering she's a mom of two!) ETA: It was nice to see Laurie Hernandez back, too. Hope she can continue to get back to her previous level.

I believe that the WTC of the FIG has already assessed the vault and given it a 6.6 D score.

Simone is hardly dancing in her floor routines anymore so she’s pretty much following suit with everyone else now. And I mean everyone apart from the Dutch. The Russians haven’t had choreo since 2012. The last time I truly enjoyed the Chinese floor choreography as a whole was in 2000 when they got the Chinese ballet to choreograph for them. After 2004 ish they thought they had to go the Adi Pop route like the Americans and yikes. Even if one didn’t like Simone’s choreo before at least she had some. That said, I didn’t find her music bad. I actually liked it and she obviously has Beijing on her mind with the choice.
