A few Senior "B" events aside, it's the off-season.

:sekret: has invited me to Baku, where I will be seeking that café where the Azerbaijani Federation holds its Nationals on a laptop. :summer: I'll also try to find time to read. To that end, I have started compiling a list of figure skating books I can't wait to read, and I would appreciate your suggestions.

Here's what I have so far.

Rink Rats, published by the University of British Columbia Press
The Blessings of Youth, by Alena Leonova, writing as Evgeniia Lopareva
How to Tie Your Laces, by Fedor Klimov, with illustrations by the author
How I Really Feel, by Andrei Bukin, with footnotes by Fedor Klimov
Healing the Montserrat Caballé Within, by Nina Mozer
1001 Great Computer Games, by Nina Mozer
Finding the Right Partner, by Bruno Massot
Speak and Write in German Like a Native, by Bruno Massot
Authentic Latin Dance Music, by Marie-France Dubreuil
Skate Your Very Best Every Single Time, by Daniel Samohin
Hold It In, by Dmitri Aliev
Letting It All Hang Out, by Gabriella Papadakis
Short Haircuts for Summer, by Jason Brown
Training in a Harness, by Adam Rippon
Body of Work: Fitness, Nutrition, and Eyebrows, by Adam Rippon
Götterdämmerung, by Ashley Wagner
Customer Relations, by Will Murillo, with footnotes by Karen Chen
Get With the Program!, by Karen Chen
Say a Little Prayer, by Karen Chen
Why Skate? Why Coach?, by Mark Mitchell
The Easy Path to Israeli Citizenship, by Boris Chait, with critical essay by Ilia Tkachenko
Everything Happens for a Reason, by Ilia Tkachenko
Save the Best for Last, by Eteri Tutberidze as told to Alina Zagitova

New releases only, please. I've spent the period between the Olympics and Worlds reading I, Surya, by Suzanne Bonaly, and a bunch of other classics. :)

“Always keep them guessing” a collection of interviews by Christine brennen with usfs officials on their decision making strategy.

“I, Richard” a humorous and irreverent autobiographical look at how molesting children was everyone else’s fault but his own. “Milenials rule” blog gave it 5 out of 4 avocado toasts because “lighten up, it’s just a fun story. I enjoyed it. Sheesh.”

“When life gives you lemons, an octopus answers the phone” Bridgestone’s chief marketing exec takes a surrealist look at what happens when the most visible athlete of the last decade is left sitting on the Oly bench.

There are some more good suggestions, just like this, in the Archives, accessible with a season's pass or subscription. I've read many of them. ;)

Or you could start a separate thread. :)

Go to a good independent bookseller this Sunday, and make sure to bring a printout of this entire thread with you. ;)
Any suggestions of a good independent bookseller that might have these titles? Or can be ordered online?

To be fair, Lubov did attend more ISU championships skating for Canada than she would ever attend skating for Russia, so I don’t think she regrets switching countries and getting the citizenship.

I think the joke is that all three women got their citizenship right on time after petitioning or whatever to qualify for that February's Olympics and missed out. Weaver and Gilles had to wait another four years. I doubt any of the three regret their choices though. I do think Lubov looked very happy and healthy with Dylan.
