Nothing more than my speculation, but it would not surprise me if chartered transportation were arranged to get the show skaters to Omaha, with departure from Wichita on Sunday night soon after the gala ends at 9:30 pm.
I don't know whether show management would spring for the cost of a chartering a flight -- but I think a less expensive option would be to charter one or more "luxury"-type RVs with sleeping bunks (like those used by bands on tour). I think being driven on a charter would take something like five hours, but some hassles of commercial flight would be avoided (such as checking baggage and going through TSA procedures).
The option of ground transportation came to my mind partly because my YouTube feed had a video of a Visit Wichita person on set at a Nebraska television station to promote Nats. (I think it was around the time that single-session tickets became available.) The point of the promotional appearance being that Nats would be well worth taking a road trip to Wichita.
