Love the new True Lies but Jamie Lee Curtis is irreplaceable and the movie is one of my all time faves. Still I will keep watching the show.

I enjoyed the first episode. Glad that they covered so much story in just one episode. I really enjoy everybody in the cast as well. Unlike the first episode of Will Trent where everybody was so awful to one another. That lost me and I gave up on the show even though the previews made it look interesting. Not sure why they had to make pretty much every character be such a jerk. :( Thankfully, True Lies is getting it right. :cheer:

I watched the first episode of the new season of Sanditon. I hope the season picks up. I fear that the Charlotte of Season 1 never will return even if she does not marry the farmer. She is timid and boring. Colbourne is boring too. I miss Sidney and the Charlotte of Season 1.

I wish I had Paramount+ to be able to see this version of The Challenge. Until then, I will get by with Farmer Wants A Wife for my reality TV fix (along with Survivor and American Idol, of course). So far Farmer... is just okay. Hopefully with time it'll kick into at least second gear!

Watched the first new ep of Yellowjackets

OMG. None of this should really be shocking. It was obvious Shauna is not okay. Everyone theorized Jackie gets eaten. But the way they set it all up, the complexity of Jackie and Shauna’s relationship, the Weekend At Bernie’s homage with frozen Jackie, made the ending, with Shauna eating Jackie’s ear like it was a cookie, made me scream. I guess it’s one thing if everyone else, who weren’t as close to her, made Jackie a meal, but it’s another if it’s someone who had a close, intense relationship

I guess I wasn’t so bothered. She’s still pregnant at this point, right? She was already craving blood (iron) last season. She is now in survival mode, while pregnant. Probably disassociating.

We watched the first episode of Lucky Hank and really enjoyed it.

In Canada, there's a good new show called Sullivan's Crossing. It airs on CTV, there's been two episodes so far. It's based on a book series by Robyn Carr, about a neurosurgeon who faces some work problems and decides to take a break by returning to Nova Scotia and the campground her father runs (who is played by Scott Patterson from Gilmore Girls). Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle) plays her boyfriend, but things might become complicated as the area handyman (Chad Michael Murray) might be a better match for our neurosurgeon heroine.

The show is a light drama that's the television equivalent of comfort food. And lord, does Chad Michael Murray ever look GOOD in this show!! :swoon: An added bonus is the show features a lot of great music I've never heard before. I had to shazam two different songs during the last episode to add to my collection.

I’m anxiously waiting for Netflix to pick this up since they carry Virgin River, also by Robyn Carr. She said there will be US distribution news soon!

PRETTY BABY: BROOK SHIELDS - Hulu - 12:01 a.m. (Docuseries)

Brooke Shields was on The View talking about this show the other day. They showed a scene where she was talking with her daughters about the movie Pretty Baby and it was interesting to see the openness and honesty they shared. Makes me think this will be a good show.

Associated Press' interview with Brooke Shields about her Hulu documentary:
With a dazzling array of archival photos and footage, and in-depth interviews with Shields, “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields” is a firsthand examination of her success as a model, actor, author and now lifestyle entrepreneur, despite being sexualized and objectified at a young age and managing her alcoholic mother — the original “momager,” Teri Shields.
Like other recent documentaries on Britney Spears and Pamela Anderson, “Pretty Baby” includes a cringeworthy barrage of media clips where mostly older men reduce her to a pretty face and have little interest in her answers to their questions. The film, which drops in two parts on Hulu on Monday, looks back at how women were treated in the 1980’s and 1990’s — including Shields revealing she was the victim of a sexual assault by a Hollywood executive after she graduated college.

From the closed Netflix etc thread:
MacMadame said:
Mr. Mac is "forcing" me to watch Star Trek: Prodigy. It's aimed at kids (co-produced by Nickelodeon) but apparently adult Star Trek fans are eating it up. I am not a fan, tbh. For one thing, the dialog is not well-written, and the animation is not good at all. It is definitely not to the standards of Lower Decks.
I also haven't been been able to get into Prodigy, for the same reasons. I've watched the first 3 (I think) episodes but am not sure I'll watch more. I haven't seen Lower Decks yet, as it hasn't been released on Paramount+ in Australia yet (later this year I believe).

I got more into it as it went along but the animation still drove me crazy the entire time :

Sometimes I watch Lower Decks and it's better. I am not that into it as I don't find the way the characters behave to be very realistic.

We watched Shrinking on Apple TV+. It was okay. Definitely made me laugh, and Harrison Ford was surprisingly good. I liked Lukita Maxwell, the actress who played Jason Segel's daughter. She felt pretty real as a teen. Many of the other characters, I wasn't as crazy about. I don't know, the overall milieu and tone of the show didn't really resonate with me. My husband enjoyed it though.

Between Shrinking episodes, we've been watching season 3 of Ted Lasso as it comes out. Again, it's just okay. I think this is a show that probably should have been one-season-and-done. They seem to be struggling to extend the concept over three seasons. This season is feeling a bit stale so far, and the plot is moving slowly. Zava is funny, though.

Episode 8 of Picard !!!!! This season has been so dark, but so good.

I am so glad that's the end of Vadik and Lore, at least I think that's their end. I say I think because even as the episode wrapped, I kept expecting them to still be around, for Vadik to reassemble herself somehow and for Lore to pop out of Data again.
