Episode 8 of Picard !!!!! This season has been so dark, but so good.

I am so glad that's the end of Vadik and Lore, at least I think that's their end. I say I think because even as the episode wrapped, I kept expecting them to still be around, for Vadik to reassemble herself somehow and for Lore to pop out of Data again.
I thought it was great, too. I don’t think Vadik can come back, unless a changeling takes her form. And whole struggle between Lore and Data was great, but I got confused as to how Data finally won. I have to watch it again. Loved, loved, loved, the return of Spot!

I also loved Worf’s entrance and his “Everyone is entitled to their personal space” comment when Deanna was hugging him.

I am quite happy with The Company You Keep. By episode six, the big reveal happens. There have been shows in the past where things like that are prolonged for a full season, or maybe even two. I love that we didn't have to wait for this moment and how the show is building on what this means and taking the story to an even bigger moment. It's going to be something!! :cheer: :D

He gave his memories to Lore which made Lore into Data because our memories make us who we are. Or at least that's the theory. (I actually don't agree with this 100% as I think it's a combination of our experiences and how we react to them that makes us who we are which is part of our memories but it's more than that.)

Or you could argue that a cat's purr did it.

Yes, I was watching the Ready Room and they played that clip. I think it was also that Lore WANTED the memories, which were the very best part of Data. Anyway, he’s still not human, so I’m okay with how it played out. And I wonder what traces of Lore and others are still in there. Like now Data can use contractions, that came from Lore, I think.

If you haven’t watched the Ready Room, it’s been quite good and helpful this season. Wil is sometimes over the top excited, but he’s doing a good job of asking thoughtful questions and explaining key points.

I've started watching "Transatlantic" on Netflix. It is a period piece "inspired by true events" that takes literary license with the lives of some key people working against the Nazis to try to help refugees in Marseille early in WWII.

It's a period that often is ignored by Americans when discussing WW II. It was before the attack on Pearl Harbor, when we had not entered the war and were "neutral" despite horrible things happening in Europe. We were turning away Jews fleeing the Nazis and others being persecuted, including artists.

So far, I like it and think it is worth watching, but I do think it is trying to do a bit too much and therefore in some ways does not quite do enough.

I started Succession, two episodes in and I’m not sure I care to continue. What a horrible family. Does it get better or do they all stay horrible?

Yellowjackets is even darker S2. I am loving Lewis and Ricci and the young actors playing all those still alive are doing a great job, I really feel like it was them when younger.

I do not read spoilers so this is pure speculation. With this latest reveal that the baby is a boy I started to wonder if Adam was that baby. Why not throw some Oedipus into the mix of this show. I actually think he was too old but that would be a twist. I still think Adam may have been Javi.

Succession takes a little bit to get into, but once I got fully immersed I fell in love with the humor of it. The people are awful but I did start to get emotionally invested in a couple of them. By the end of S1 I was on the edge of my seat.

I finished the Night Agent. One of the best new shows I’ve watched in a while. I’m so happy Netflix released it all at once. I could not wait for a week for another episode.
I’ve been watching one episode every night and have two left. Not my favorite thing I’ve watched recently but enough to keep me engaged. Except when the murderous duo is on screen. I kind of check out for them.

I was so upset when Cisco was killed. I thought he had the best personality on the show by far.

I finished watching "The Night Agent" on Friday night and it was okay popcorn entertainment, but nothing revelatory. I concur with @TanithandBenFan that the assassin couple were the weakest link. (Her acting was incredibly dreadful, I thought.) Hong Chau, as the Chief of Staff, and D.B. Woodside, as the injured returning Secret Service agent, were the only actors who even stood out for me.

Plot wise, maybe I just didn't want to suspend my disbelief because we've been seeing so much real political craziness and corruption in the last decade; we don't necessarily need plots like this one to give some already rotten apples even worse ideas.

Yeah, I hated the assassin couple. I will say nothing has grabbed me lately and this did so maybe that’s why? It worked better binging vs an episode at a time.

We started into season 12 of Call the Midwife and so far I’m a bit underwhelmed. I‘m annoyed how they’re just writing off characters with no effort at all put into it. Sister Hilda and Sister Frances both disappeared with little notice taken (in Sister Hilda’s case, just a line or two) and it’s too bad, because I enjoyed them both. This season’s Christmas episode was definitely not as good as past ones, I thought, and I’m put off by the odd line readings and facial expressions of Trixie’s fiancé. Maybe it’ll pick up as the season goes on.

Sorry, I hope you didn't take my post as a reaction to your enjoyment of the series. I totally didn't intend that at all. :) If I don't enjoy something I may give it a couple of episodes then just quit watching a series. I started "Dance 100" on Netflix and quit it after episode three.

I've hardly ever binge series on Netflix/Prime. I can usually do about 2 episodes of something then wait a day or two and catch another one or two. I think the only show where I've watched more recently is "Love, Death and Robots," but those episodes rarely exceed even 15 minutes, as it's animated sci-fi short stories.) It's also pretty graphic in violence and sex in certain episodes, so I don't know that I'd recommend it to most people. (Maybe anyone who loves graphic novels like "Walking Dead.")

@peibeck I didn't particularly care. I don't like a lot of show people like! I seem to like suspense, procedurals, and first responder type shows. I don't like anything sci-fi/fantasy. Or comedy. Or period pieces.

There are a handful of other things I like (The West Wing and Newsroom are 2 of my favorites), but otherwise most of what I like fits in the above.

I'm loving Jury Duty on Freevee. They put up the first four episodes with four more to come in the next two weeks, I believe. The premise is everyone is an actor except one guy who thinks they are filming a documentary on jury duty. The characters are kooky and include James Marsden as himself. Hard to believe the guy didn't suspect anything. I've seen some interviews about it and he says he really did not know until they told him at the end. He's a real likeable guy which makes it even more enjoyable.

Did you watch last Sunday (the wedding episode?) It is going to sweep the Emmy awards. There was a program following showing how they filmed that remarkable 30 minute scene with the Roy children—all giving tour de force performances. If I’m wrong about the Emmy——-nah I won’t be wrong. That was one of the best hours of tv in a long, long time.

Saw Pretty Baby the Brooke Shields documentary and it is just cringeworthy! Cannot believe it was ever acceptable to take explicit pictures of a nine year old!!! I admire shields so much now knowing how much she went through and how she survived to be the person she is now. I highly recommend this documentary but it maybe too much for some.

Yes! The show is appointment viewing for me, which is good so I was able to avoid all the spoilers.

It’s funny because as gripping as the episode was, there were others in S2 that I think will still remain ahead of it on my ranking of favorites. It might be because I spent so much of the episode wondering if it was all a ruse and I felt so on edge.

I was laughing at reactions from others elsewhere: A picture of the nuke mushroom cloud, Betty Davis, in All About Eve, warning us to fasten our sealbelts. (It will most certainly be bumpy!) I know some people don’t watch because the characters can be so unlikable but the complexities are fascinating. And then the way they film it. Who else is doing it this way? Effing brilliant!

I’ve been watching this too and it’s hysterical. They wouldn’t have been able to fool me because I watch too much TV and recognized some of the actors lol. The Tim character is my favorite. Omg his “chants” 😂
