Not being afraid of others seeing work and struggle, she posted a video of her FULLY rotating and falling on a 4S without a harness on Instagram.

Bumping this thread back up to bow down to the Empress! GREAT performance in her Rostelecom Cup free skate today, landing everything except for a step/fall out on her second 3A! :respec:

BTW, Liza recently launched her clothing venture:

ETA: And it’s GOLD!!!

I'm hoping third time will be the charm for Liza making an Olympic team in 2022. I feel pretty confident that two out of three of Anna, Sasha, and Aliona will not get their content back, and Kamila doesn't seem to have the best nerves. Liza has been slow and steady, has a healthy attitude, and has not only learned quads as an adult but has improved her spins and connecting steps quite a bit. I quite enjoyed this program even separate from the jumps. Davai!

Also, with a Rostelecom victory, Liza now have medals from all six Grand Prix events :)
So she does, and that's not a common achievement. The only other ladies skater I found who accomplished this is Mao Asada - who IIRC is the only singles skater who has won all of them.

ETA: interestingly I've only found one skater on the men's side who medalled at all the GPs: Brian Joubert. There are some pairs and dance teams who have done it, though not necessarily all those you might expect.

"I believe that in the life of the athlete there are still a lot of different happy moments and it's not only about (taking) first place and (making) the Olympics,” she told Olympic Channel in an exclusive interview, translated from Russian.

“But since I already have such a long career, this time I will make my biggest and every effort to get to the Olympics in Beijing. To get to the Olympics... I really want it.”

Interview with Liza who's going to Worlds :) (her first trip since she won the 2015 World title):

Machine translated excerpts:

- Do you plan to enhance the content for the start in Stockholm?
We have strengthened it for the final of the Russian Cup, including a new cascade in the second part of the free program. There is no time to master any new elements.
...
-In the middle of this season, you changed your short program, although your Phrygia from Spartak delighted the audience and was well received by specialists.
I also liked this image, but this program was staged last season. Even the most favorite songs get bored, and I want to try something new. I really like the program I performed in Moscow and will present it in Stockholm. The main thing is that the elements fit into the music, and the ride is comfortable.
...
-Throughout your career, you have been training with Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin. How has your relationship changed over the years?
I came to St. Petersburg from Glazov as a very little girl. It was difficult to assess who Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin was. Our relationship has, of course, changed over the years. Today they can be called absolutely harmonious.

IFS article by @Eislauffan:
Professor Mishin's excerpted quote:
“Lisa feels that she still can do it and that keeps her going. If someone is doing a triple Axel and a quad toe — at least in training — this shows that she is in the front line of the sport. Her personal qualities keep her going and allow her to continue to be competitive. I also want to say that in our group we do not see her as some auntie getting ready for retirement. We really respect and appreciate her and she feels that. If our relationship with her were different, her career would not have been as long as it is.
“She is a very kind and good girl. She is not mean and does not have this bad feeling of envy. Many people crumble not because they can’t do something, but because they envy someone and that feeling is eating them up from inside. But Lisa knows that she is good and that makes it easier to be good. That is the most important trait in her mentality. I think she has more talent than will. Some people squeeze the last drop of talent out of themselves by sheer willpower, but she has a huge talent and gift.

I still can't believe everything is like a dream (in a good dream) !! I want to dedicate this victory to all women in figure skating. We can do everything! Never give up, go your own way to come at the right time to the right place 😄 #womenpower

Also, short interview with Liza:
- Yesterday it seemed that you don't understand what has happened. The night has passed, today is a new day - now can you say how the girl who became the vice-champion of the World feels?
- I think I had very strong emotions last night, I slept badly because of this, there were a lot of congratulations. Today everything has calmed down, and I still do not fully realize my happiness. Probably, I will come to St. Petersburg and only after a while I will understand what I have done for myself, my career and for figure skating. Now I'm just resting calmly.
--
- Six years ago you won the World Championship. Everyone knows about the progress you have achieved in technical aspect since then, but what about psychology? What has changed?
- During these six years I have progressed not only as figure skater, but also as a person. Psychologically, I try to develop myself and tune in to competitions a little differently, so I am more consistent and confident. It seems to me that the age from eighteen to about thirty, is the time when you strive to perceive all possible information around you. A very productive period. I am now twenty-four, and, naturally, my attitude has changed. I have become more mature, a little wiser. I love the way I develop.
- I read your post on Instagram that you dedicate your medal here to all women in figure skating. Can you tell us in more detail what do you mean?
- With this medal and my skating, I wanted to set an example that life in figure skating is just starting after eighteen, and you should never give up. It is for those girls who think that it is impossible to achieve anything else, who have no motivation. No, anything is possible. The further, the more interesting each year of life is. When you overcome yourself, it is very valuable, and it is definitely worth working, developing and not giving up what you started.
