The Rostelecom Cup Men's field is on the weak-ish side. If Kolyada and Semenenko go 1-2, it will depend on Semeneko's score. ES would need 267.74 in total score to go to the third tie-break, which, IIRC, is highest FS score, and 267.75 to win the 6th spot outright. (His Skate Canada total is 256.01.) If Semenenko and Kolyada go 1-2, then Brown will be the first alternate. No one else at Rostelecom can beat or tie 24 total points.

Very happy for Jason. Near full credit for 4S. He left some points on table so a bigger tech score is possible. It woulld be nice of Jason to go to GPF but I almost wish he wouldn't. Allow his foot to get stonger -- not over stressing it. Maybe allow him a lower pressure event to pratice all his elements. He's a very reliable skater. Doesn't really need to prove he can do it under pressure.

Philip Hersh is reporting all kinds of travel woes for Jason.

has been in travel hell all day. Was supposed to go TOR-LGA-Nashville, but now headed from LGA to Atlanta, where he plans to spend night and get to Nashville Friday (hopefully).

Brown’s mother, Marla, told me he has skates and clothes to practice in but his costumes in luggage, which is not with him. She is currently hunting at home for an old costume if necessary.

That short program Jason performed today was epic. You never would have known the struggles he had getting to Nashville or that he had just heard sky high scores for Ilia. That program was absolutely gorgeous.
