Detroit selected to host 2019 U.S. Figure Skating Championships

This is the hotel that DSC uses most of the time for Skate Detroit. So this might be where the skaters will be staying for Jr nats. http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/ho...southfield-west-bloomfield-DTTWBHX/index.html

Here is another one. Both run shuttles for the skaters https://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpre...teldetail?cm_mmc=GoogleMaps-_-EX-_-US-_-DTTFN

This is an awesome place to eat!! My fav here is the lobster grilled cheese!! http://5thtavern.com/ (a lot of the coaches and skaters eat dinner here). Nice bar. Sports bar.
This is where all the skaters and coaches go for brunch on Sundays. http://www.toastbirmingham.com/

Is there any information on price levels for tickets? The email notice I received said tickets go on sale at 10 am EST. So if you are on EDT, that means it will be 11 am? I agee that this whole event seems rather sloppy on arrangements.

I booked an airbnb a month ago. A condo right across the street from Little Caesars, with an inside parking spot. Sweet.

Nice! How much did you pay for the condo if you dont mind me asking?

This isn't going to like, sell out super quick, is it? I don't have to be a time conversion genius to know that 10am EST is going to be pretty ugly for me.

I loathe split schedules like that. It's so incredibly disrespectful to the athletes. "Hey, you made Nationals, but suck it, you're not good enough to skate with the good skaters."

Personally since they are splitting the short they actually run a risk of a skater who winds up placing fairly high being in the early group, will serve them right!

Do they have a seat map that shows where K&C and the judges side are?

It is a standard airbnb bedroom and bath rented from owner of condo, while they are also living there. Monday to Monday $340. These work well for skating events, as I came in late and get up late and interaction with host is minimal.

Well, that was frustrating, but it all worked out in the end. The presale code didn't work initially, though I tried both Chrome and an old version of IE. When I got to the website I was able to select seats and specify my payment method (previously entered in my account to save time), but the button to submit the purchase did nothing. I was lucky that when that first attempt timed out after 10 minutes, the seats I wanted were still available, and the purchase went through on my second attempt.

Any opinions on the seats that have access to the lounges? $600 ($200x3) seems a bit steep when you have to pay for the food/drinks there too.

Yes on the Tickets page on 2019uschampionships.com

Thanks!

I was not able to log-in with Chrome and with Firefox, it did not show the seating chart first, then did not accept my credit card, then timed out, then gave another error message... it took me 1 hour to get it done.

My wife and I have been reading police reports about what is happening in and near the city of Detroit in recent times, gun violence is high as usual but we are considering still attending since our local community center is offering free fire arms usage classes to try and attract school teachers to get to use and own guns. My wife and I are not teacher's but we are allowed to go because the classes are open to every one in the community of Soccoro where we live.

We are deciding to buy tickets but we want to know about there things:
Free shuttles to and from the hotel
Is there a Howard Johnson's near-by?
Water must be available, other-wise we will pass out as a boycott
Free wieners and buns with purchase of certain level ticket
Free non alocoholic beers, at least one per event
Olive Garden must be located near the arena so we can fill up on their soup, salad, stick deal

I would like all the information requested above no later than Friday thank you.

Oh ok that is good really for a full week, the entire apartment rentals in the arena area were as much or more than a suite at some of the local hotels so I will probably just go with the MGM Grand. I want a spa tub!

Also here is an interactive map for anyone interested to see what your view will probably look like.

So you plan on walking around with a gun? FYI, you won't be allowed in the arena.

Didn't have any problems getting online this morning, still seems to be quite a few tickets available. Much to think about.

Mom and I officially have our tickets now. :biggrinbo The only problem I had was that we were trying to get seats near some friends and the seats all around them weren't available when I was on the site so I bought some seats across the aisle in the next section (we're on the end and so are they)......only for the seats all around my friends to suddenly be available after my purchase was done. I'm going to try to call there tomorrow and see if I can switch our seats to one of the closer rows but even if I can't do that, our current seats will be just fine. We got seats in the $575 section which is WAY better than the prices were for San Jose. :yikes:

Anyone have any hotel info? We've been looking but haven't found anything yet.

Just got our tickets tonight, phew! Been waiting for a long time. I haven’t bought all event tickets in a long time, but prices seem pretty good. I live in the area, close to DSC so looking forward to seeing everything. Haven’t been to the arena yet but heard it’s very nice.
