I really enjoyed that interview, thanks mollymgr! I'm always interested to hear what skaters are thinking and feeling during competitions, and no one was better at standing up to pressure than D/W.

It's odd that some fans are still telling Charlie to talk about skating and not politics, but it's clear if you actually listen to him that his beliefs about how to be a good athlete and a good person are all intertwined. He doesn't separate those identities at all.

The term "odd" is the least of it. I remember that certain fans threatened him with no longer going to SOI performances because of his political beliefs and the fact that he articulated them. I abhor those that would prevent anyone and that includes athletes from doing so and this amounts to those individuals who are advocating censorship and authoritarianism in the name of "patriotism". With the current administration's attacks on the free press and free speech in general, we are in danger if we do not continue to put our views out there. Trump's practice of automatically denigrating views contrary to his own and facts that prove wrongdoing, etc. as "fake news" is what is endangering our democracy.

Charlie has a right to his views regardless of his high profile as any of us.

I found the "dreaded twizzle" part towards the end quite interesting. It was fun to hear Charlie explaining how they used the scraping noises of their blades to keep unison during twizzle sequences. And all the things that can cause a twizzaster. It was also enlightening to hear how ice dancers approach a warm-up as opposed to singles or pairs skaters. I wish there were more unique questions like these during interviews than the usual trite questions and answers.

Thanks justtojoke. I haven't been able to get it to play no matter what I've tried, but someone will load it elsewhere eventually. I hope.

Charlie's posted some pics and video with Baby C on his instagram. My heart!

I couldn't view the video on my desktop computer, but when I tried it on my Ipad I was successful, so you might want to try that if you have one.

Baby C is so precious and Charlie looks like an adoring father!

^^ So cute pictures and video. But we never get to see Baby C's face. Maybe on purpose?

Charlie and Tanith seem like such overjoyed and happy parents, in love with each other, Baby C, and life! :)

In the below vid toward the end of the GS interview with Ted Flett (after winning AC), Vanessa and Morgan have kind words about working with Charlie White on their new fp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ulK95_0_fw

Looks like Charlie was working on the long program for James/Cipris.

Charlie 'I Love Warhorses' White choreographed a Beyonce program? This I gotta see!

Meryl & family look swell, but the camera loves Bilbo most of all. :glamor:

But as we know, it didn't turn out to be a Beyonce program. Vanessa & Morgan give Charlie and Guillaume lots of props for their work! https://www.instagram.com/p/Bpd9Su3H2IC/

*Ha ha, Cleveland has it's own local general news and entertainment magazine that's been around since forever, entitled: SCENE

And check out Charlie White's Instagram in general, especially his posts about the importance of voting and civic engagement. He's such a great role model, athlete, champion, and an all-around great human being! Thank you Charlie for speaking out and for being a leader, by not only talking the talk, but walking the walk, and then some! :kickass:

I enjoyed the show a lot! It was a little shambolic, but I could watch most of that cast skate all day. Plus compared to what I've been seeing on the Grand Prix, well.... :shuffle: Meryl and Charlie especially looked like they were having a blast.

Funny, VM fans have been begging Charlie for days on SM to post Canton reunion pics. He's the hero we all need. :rockstar:

ETA: Yes!

I'm finding the comments very amusing. :)

I enjoyed that conversation, thanks justtojoke. It's interesting to watch Meryl and Ashley both trying to pull away from their skating personas a little. Clearly that is not easy for either of them.
