oh yeah i had the thought that the color might look different under competition lighting but I am glad it's not red or black lol

Oh I think this is gorgeous! I was worried about how they would package this so it didn’t feel like they were trying to be v/m - doing a piece of music that your coach did so well is a risk but this already feels like their carmen. Also - love an ice dance man in an actual costume

lollllllll i love how slang changes and can express different things so i just go with the flow

The more I look at these costumes the more obsessed i am like the little details on Anthony's jackets of stripes that match Christina's costume is chef's kiss perfect

I did see that! Usually Christina gets the higher level step calls lol. I guess this just means by the end of the season they can both be getting lvl 4s right?

This was really good! Kind of wish they’d kept the sort of Lindy-flip move in the choreo steps and the ending pose that they had at the champs camp performance but given how much their choreo evolves over the season these days I’m not too bothered!

I will say that I think going early meant they were underscored here. I’d have them closer to FG and I’d have ZK a little more below them - I wish they would get rewarded for the fact that they actually ice dance!

The thing I'm most happy about is that this is a much stronger start than last season. Also Challengers and other early competitions are traditionally very whacky with results anyway lol, so idk if this is indicative of anything at this point. I mean some of the top teams at worlds got beat by people who were never going to make a worlds team last year lol.

Very true! We also know that Z/K have been pushed like crazy since day 1 and Igor can politik like no one else. As much as their success in 18/19 was great - in the long term I actually think his politicking did untold damage to cpom’s rise and reputation. The way that LaLa were able to gradually improve and rise in their first couple of senior seasons is actually a more sustainable route to success imo.

(As an aside - I’d love to know the real tea on them leaving Igor. They miss nationals because his star child (VK) returned to the rink with Covid and then days later announce they’re leaving with no solid plan? I mean….)

Great FS for them. Can’t wait to see how this grows through the season. So much drama! Again highest level for Anthony on the One Foot. And a final score almost 20 pts higher than last year at Nebelhorn. So much growth!!

GOD????? L4 AT NB TROPHY?? yesssss i love carmen and i dont really care about some claims that need work i loved it!!!! and the score is huge im so proud!!

I love it but I do think it needs work - but that’s a good thing!! I feel like we used to see them at their ceiling in September - and now we don’t. The way that Perfume grew was great and I expect this to as well.

I’ll stop the ZK comparison now (because I actually don’t mind them, they just aren’t totally my taste and also we all know bock not retiring is the issue) - but I don’t see ZK’s choreo changing much. They performed very well, were rewarded for it and looked strong perhaps one of their best outings. Whereas, while this was a great outing for Christina and Anthony (levels, hello??) - we all know that this choreo will be stronger and their performance will get better. This is just the start and they got almost 120 for it!

No kidding. Those scores are no joke. I just went back and looked at their Challenger and GP scores from last season - this week was significantly higher. LopBri, ReedAmbru, TurkVer and FBSoer had better have some damn good material because CarPon can beat them at their GPs with this kind of a trajectory.

We'll have to see what LopBri and FBSoer can score, relative to GuiFab, at Shanghai Trophy in a couple weeks, but this is very, very promising for potentially qualifying for the GPF. It won't be easy, but there's a path.

I might like them to rethink the music edit a bit to be smoother, and there's a lot of room to grow, but that's a good thing! I can see them really bringing down the house at Worlds, and if they're already scoring this well this early just imagine where they can go. I want Anthony to get a different military uniform but I like the concept. I actually thought he looked a little stronger/more settled in the FD than Christina did at times, he's progressed really well over the offseason.
