My interest in baseball is limited to having my own team. My expansive baseball fandom years are decades behind me.

I experienced being forced to find a new team before most of you all were born and it wasn't fun. Its Washington or nothing for me.

Even though my father grew up in College Park, Maryland (not far from the DC line) he always said he would only root for Maryland teams. He was always a Baltimore Orioles fan and Baltimore Colts fan (later a Ravens fan). His brother always rooted for the Senators and the Redskins (and later the Nationals). Back in th 70's I remember when the Redskins played the Miami Dolphins in the Super Bowl. My elementary school had a Redskins rally to celebrate. I and one other kid in my class refused to participate. The daughter of one of the Redskins was in kindergarten at our school at the time.

Anyone watching the World Baseball Classic? I’m proud of Nola getting the USA to the quarterfinals by his wonderful 5 innings for team Italy.

I watched the first couple US games. They have been really fun and the lineup is so good. But it’s embarrassing that they didn’t know the rules and almost got themselves eliminated. Thanks team Italy for the save!
