Pre-pandemic, I drove from CT to Albany, NY to see Alysa compete at the cheesefest at (which she won) and then headed up Lake Placid to see her skate in the Junior Grand Prix(which she also won). It was the best thing I ever did.

Wouldn't she be invited to SkateAmerica? Or would she be seeded too highly, so as to be sent to Canada?

I remember watching that competition online i wanted to see how Alysa was going to do now that she was finally eligible for the Junior GP and i saw a 14 year old kid in the Men's by the name of Ilia Malinin also making his debut who impressed me with his jump technique and attitude. Now less then six years later they are both World champions winning their titles at home in the same championship.

...imho, her real beauty, beauty of her soul is there, on this photo...she always sort of covers it ( unconsciously iguess) with her outward behavior but here it is like on a display...caught :-), making her unaware that it is caught :-)...🌷

OK, now I'm REALLY getting excited for the Olympic season! The loop in that combo often gets dinged when skaters try it, but Alysa's looks like it's all the way around on both tries! She's often said this past season that she could be 'so much better', and she can! Not just with her ever improving speed and skating skills, but also with her jumps! She seems to have been working very hard to get her jumps all the way around! Crossing fingers she'll get her triple axel back, even better than she had it before!

Alysa looks radiant! What a lovely young lady she has grown to be! She's always been a pretty little girl with a heart of gold, but she's really blossoming into quite the beauty! And of course always with that beautiful smile and charm!

I've been watching the interview between babysitting my 2 year old grandniece, so it's been sort of stop and start lol! 😆 I'm about halfway through, and just got to the part where Boomer is asking Alysa about the Chinese government spying incident on her dad, and all of those strange events going on in the background as she tried to prepare for the Games, the extra security at the Olympics, and Alysa mentions that the FBI! 😳 even went to her house! It's so surreal! Alysa is clearly a strong personality, not easily rattled, but I can't help but think that these bizaare security threats against her dad, and possibly even herself, all of these interruptions had to have affected her optimum training for the Olympics! She might have skated even better than she did had it not been for all of these strange distractions, the coaching and training venue changes so close to the Games, etc.!
