Entry list not up yet. Not all competitors have been accredited. Guess this will be the case until official practices

Wikipedia is missing skaters that are already there so I would say its nothing to go by. Hope they do this soon

I think pairs will be pretty easy to predict. Well, in that the medalists will all be Russian that is.

Maral is one and only competitive figure skater in Mongolia. She does every paper work by herself. She's been skating in Mao's Thanks Tour from last year as well, since she's learning/training in Chukyo Univ where Mao also learned/trained. Inspired by her existence, Mongolia is planning to build a skating rink. I wish she'll contribute to spreading this sport in her country. Wish all the best for her here. :cheer:

Why no American skaters? It looks like there's a fairly small number of American participants overall, but the event will be in Lake Placid in 2023 so it's something that is on the US's radar at some level. Is it just not big enough to be worth traveling so far?

I had the totally erroneous perception for the past few months that it was a newish thing, always in Russia, and possibly initiated by Averbukh, so obviously I'm catching up on this one!

It was on the USFS calendar for this season (removed very recently) so they must have been considering it but for whatever reason changed their minds.

The US has sporadically sent skaters in the past: 1997 (Alice Sue Claeys! ), 2003, 2007, and it looks like 2009 was the last time any Americans were sent. I know the dates used to conflict with US Nationals, but that's definitely not the case this year. In 2003, Angie Lien elected to compete at Universaide instead of Nationals (which she qualified for), and won a surprise silver medal.

I'm disappointed there aren't any American entries this year. Too bad.

Great redemption for Max.
Awesome 4s3t, 3lz,3a hand. Steps were really great, he was totally into it.
(good, he only went for one quad)

Uspenski at the boards is getting more frightening each day :scream:
Buianova, absent as usual.

Has anyone seen Rizzo's skate? I can't watch but I imagine it went well given the score?
