It was mentioned that he was having all kinds of issues in practice, jumping strangely, stepping out of every triple, possibly limping? If he is at all injured he should obviously just withdraw, but of course that's not his personality and he could win the title without a single quad in the FS.

It seems hard to imagine that NBC wouldn't milk that drama for ALL it was work if there was a chance for a will-he won't-he narrative, I feel like they'd be all over it.

The interview seemed pre-recorded to me. During practice or something, maybe?

To be fair to NBC, Max does not seem like he wants people to leave him alone about his parents. He seems like sharing about them is important to him.

They are still overdoing it, but I don't think they are talking to him about it against his will.
