2026 US Nationals Men's Free Skate "It's Raining Menning"

Buzz in the arena is Ilia May withdraw, don’t know if it’s been mentioned online anywhere because not paying attention to these threads.
Does the buzz include a reason? NBC just showed him backstage. I think it was from today and not yesterday.

Probably based on how practice went earlier today. Check out the practice thread for details.

It was mentioned that he was having all kinds of issues in practice, jumping strangely, stepping out of every triple, possibly limping? If he is at all injured he should obviously just withdraw, but of course that's not his personality and he could win the title without a single quad in the FS.

Just got home from robotics. Hoping that, since NBC doesn't care about dance, they won't mention the results and spoil me during the mens.

He fell hard on a 4S during practice and was limping a bit afterwards.

Thanks.

Too much going on to find another thread. :)

Ilia looked pretty unbothered just now, but I read all those practice reports too, so who knows. I hope he has the sense to WD if he needs to.

UGH. They should really do something like record interviews during the week and show them before they skate. Any live interviews should be after they are done competing for the day.

The interview seemed pre-recorded to me. During practice or something, maybe?

To be fair to NBC, Max does not seem like he wants people to leave him alone about his parents. He seems like sharing about them is important to him.

They are still overdoing it, but I don't think they are talking to him about it against his will.
