So does anyone have a reference for how Sato performs under pressure?

I had hoped we would skip YMCA. But knew it was after Get LoudYep, this sound tape for intermissions is the same one used at pro volleyball games.
To be fair though Russia has won a few alreadyI suspect I'm the only one on FSU who is pulling for a bronze for Georgia. I couldn't care less which of Japan or the US wins gold, but Georgia has never won an Olympic medal and this is the best chance they've ever had. So, Nika, keep your focus and stay on your feet boy. Pretend this is Europeans.

I'm with you in the minority. And this program is super-flat when she's not clean & selling the heck out of it.
Nope. She's already throwing out excuses about this being her first time on Olympic ice in the backstage interview with Andrea Joyce. For all the folks who are dying for the geriatric ice dancers to retire, I'm looking forward to Amber the headcase hanging up her competitive skates at the end of this season.

That's true, but Gubanova would never, ever have made the Olympics if she was skating for Russia. To be fair though Russia has won a few already![]()
I've had a real soft spot for her since she was a junior and I'd be thrilled for her to end her career with an Olympic medal. She has no chance in the individual event unlike the pairs and even an outside possibility for Egadze, but what happens, happens.Let's not forget that in 2018 the GOE was still a +3 to -3 range compared to now with the +5 to -5 range. She scored scored higher than Mirai Nagasu who had a clean triple axel and much better spins. She should be happy. I am sure if Mirai could have had a double axel seq and would have have probably have a higher score but still.
This was apparent IRL at Euros in Sheffield. The way she carried herself was really quite distinctive. At least to me, she has some aura live, and she really stood out in comparison with many of the others. It doesn't quite come across on the screen.I like Gubanova's ice presence.
Why stop there? Where was she when that Lindbergh baby went missing? If Amber costs Italy the bronze, I will be
Go, baby Matteo!![]()
If Ilia beats Shun here, USA wins.Advance congratulations to Japan for best skating and team spirit
I guess the only way for the US to come out ahead is for the men to finish
1. Malinin
2. Somebody not Sato
3. Sato
Well, seeing that Canada's plan was always to swap out SDDes for PerMich for the free skate, no, it wouldn't have affected the gold medal race.Just had a thought I had, I wonder if Stellato-Dudek wasn't out would Kam/Oshea still have placed 4th, ultimately resulting in possible gold?
I stan Deanna, but they didn’t even win Nationals. Not sure it would have been any different.Just had a thought I had, I wonder if Stellato-Dudek wasn't out would Kam/Oshea still have placed 4th, ultimately resulting in possible gold?

2. RIZZO!Advance congratulations to Japan for best skating and team spirit

He did great at Japanese Nationals, which is a pressure cooker. We will know in under an hour.So does anyone have a reference for how Sato performs under pressure?
I thought she would be second and now she is third. She isn’t the only one who underperforms a little. It wasn't great. Headcase as usual.
No Ilia just needs to win the LP and they win the Gold.Advance congratulations to Japan for best skating and team spirit

Wasn’t that a different scoring system? In 2018, there wasn’t a +/-5 GOE scale. She scored scored higher than Mirai Nagasu who had a clean triple axel and much better spins. She should be happy. I am sure if Mirai could have had a double axel seq and would have have probably have a higher score but still.
I’m not conservative. I’m here because I like figure skating. I’m sure she’s a great person but I’m allowed to not like her skating. To the Amber skeptics who say her programs are flat or her skating does nothing. Sometimes it’s more than just music and jumps.
Her ability to inspire and represent a marginalized community and her heart for caring for others is worth more than a 150+ FS.
Perhaps the negative Nancy’s are leaning into their conservative values to disqualify how much of an ambassador she is on and off the ice.
When the vast majority of people like a person, you have to ask yourself, what’s wrong with those who don’t.
USA and Japan are tied. Malinin just needs to beat Shun, even if they're 4th and 5th. Canada handed the US that gold medal by stepping out of that throw jump, basically (because Shun isn't beating Ilia even if Ilia implodes, which I doubt he will)Advance congratulations to Japan for best skating and team spirit
