2026 CDN Jr./Sr. Sectionals/Challenge & Skate Canada Trophy

There's some delay for Hetty Shi. It sounds like Orser was talking to an official about something.

Shi hasn't always included the triple lutz and that looked like a good one. Hard fall on a triple toe and on the sal near the end. Ouch. Interesting no triple triple but instead she did two double axels after her triple loop to get 7 triples in there.

Two under rotations and a downgrade - oops now I can't see her elements anymore. Anyway behind Brezen in the free but first overall.

Yeah as I suspected - even with the falls more than enough to get her in to nationals. Hopefully she can clean up the back half because that could contend for top 5 or even podium again if she does.

Interview with Ruiter. She sounds so mature. Talking about adjusting to her training environment and her programs. Her long program is dedicated to her grandfather who passed away suddenly in March.

Well, she's no Nadiia, of course, and she's got a long way to go to catch up to him, but she has some nice qualities. Very graceful and delicate movements. We'll see how they develop.

And up next are Nadiia and Noe!

Bash/Perr are generally stronger and more powerful, but some of the elements were a little rough today. They go behind Urban/Beaumont!

Frivolous observation: Alyssa Robinson's shorter hair makes her look a bit like Liza Tuktik.

The jumps Blais landed were very good. I think she'll still qualify but it might be close. Oh wow she's being Amy Shao Ning Yang. I wonder if Blais wishes she had stayed in junior.

Great start from Pomerleau! her jumps are of high quality and she's getting a lot of GOE on them.

What an absolute BLISTERING start for Pomerleau. Bit anti-climatic with the doubled lutz but this will easily qualify her and she should very pleased with this effort.

Oops until the double lutz single toe. Still she's racked up a ton of points and should easily take the lead and put the pressure on the rest of the field.

I'm not sure Volkova will qualify now. This might be good news for Blais.

Yeah Volkova is 9th, Blais is in a qualifying position now.

Ugh - I love Miclette's music and it's fun but those two falls are not going to help her cause. Still hope she can qualify
