Bondar had a great skate with a beautiful triple axel out of a spread eagle and is leading after one group. I guess they are doing ice make now since there is an odd number of warmup groups. Based on the numbers it looks like only one senior man won't qualify.

Matthew Newnham is such a beautiful skater. He has really lovely spin positions.

He landed a nice 3a, and is our new leader!

The 3A was gorgeous, and he has such beautiful lines. Probably his best ever SP.

Vasii did a beautiful quad sal to open his program but botched the other jumping passes.

Messing had a hand down on his 4t, and landed the 3a but put his foot down very quickly.

Messing had an okay skate, quad toe was called Q, triple axel had a little turn out. I think he'd have to win nationals by a lot to have any chance for the Olympic spot based on Gogolev's body of work this season but we'll see.

I enjoyed Messings program but agree he will need to win by a wide margin at nationals to even have a chance.

Wow this might be the best Wesley Chiu has skated ever. Beautiful quad toe and triple axel and combo in the second half.

Wow, that was a really solid skate from Wesley Chiu! He landed everything cleanly - 4t, 3a and 3lz3t.

For a skater returning from injury and who has hardly competed at all in the last year, he's looking very good!
