Third place might be good for Amber, and it wouldn't shock me if the judges look at Alyssa's jumps more closely in the free.
Ehhhhhhh... They'll have the luxury of knowing exactly how Amber, Bradie & Sarah skated before Alysa takes the ice. If it's a splatfest or Sarah is leading, I'm guessing they'll lose any microscope they may have on the desk, lol.

Alysa's a short program skater (a la Sasha Cohen). She almost always skates a clean short and drops a place or two in the free. As she gets tired she tends to underrotate more. I expect Amber to win the free.

Well, this was awesome for me because I truly believed I wouldn't be able to see ANY of the U.S. Nationals live online. So, thanks to those who posted the link for USA Network and now I'm really pumped for tomorrow. Goodnight all.

Alysa - gorgeous. very well deserved huge score.

Tennell - solid but this program feels so low rent for her.

Glenn - coulda been better coulda been worse. generously gave her the benefit of the doubt with a q rather than <. still solidly in contention for the long.

Everhardt - deeply unsuited for a quick sprightly Irish dance. she needs a choreographer who can accentuate her lengthy line.

Zhang - favorite skate of the night. wise to go for a 3+2 with good GOE, with most ladies struggling on the rotation of their second 3 jump in combos.

Higase-Chen - solid but not memorable.

Kalin - jumps getting worse, skating getting better.

Elyce - peaked too soon.

Thorngren - she seems so resigned. think she should pull a sherry zhang and focus on getting clean jumps and positive goe on a solid 3+2 before going for 3+3 that are never going to get full credit.

pretty decent event. nice job women.
