Next season they really need to take care of themselves twice now in the last two years one or both of them have been sick.
You can take care of oneself and still get sick..Emilea had pneumonia and Vadym is still sick. Amber was sick..Kaori was sick..

I’m afraid by the time the next 3-4 teams get a legitimate podium shot, they will be stale themselves. Maybe not Zing/Kol because they haven’t been together long and are still young, but the others may be a bit like King Charles, coronated and creaky.
Yeah, I’m not counting on podium shots for the older teams like Green/Parsons & Pate/Bye (they’d be lucky to even make a worlds team). Those guys are getting close to 30.

If Chock/Bates ever retire, Carreria/Pomomarenko and Zingas/Kolesnik may have a chance before USFS gets behind the youthful wave coming up in Neset/Markelov, Wolfkostin/Tsarevski and junior teams.

Both of us. Two great programs. I like Z/K a lot but am happy for Michael and Caroline, they put in the work and came back.
After his injury issues and their general travails last season and early this, I was doubting if they would ever make it back - but they proved me wrong. Stylistically they aren't my favourites, but it was a really great performace today and in aggregate they're just better skaters than Zingas/Kolesnik. Z/K have huge potential for the next quad but as an ice dancer Emilea is not quite there yet.

There are a bunch of viruses this winter season...Flu A&B, Covid, norovirus (stomach). Almost everyone I know has had something.

I was taking a stroll down memory lane in my mind...I liked Chock when she and Greg were juniors, I liked Bates when he was with Samuelson...but somehow C/B didn't click with me. I am happy for their marriage but I think the only real reason they came to have success was longevity. They had a hard time winning against their contemporaries, all of those teams have since retired and they just rose to the top to fill a void. Guess I am a bit bitter over H/B not beating them. H/B should have been US champs at some point. But to be honest, there is much more to Ice Dance for me, I fully admit I am NOT a purist, I can appreciate all that the skaters put out there but there has to be an IT factor for me. Which is why I just can't get into teams like C/B and G/P. I just don't see what some see. I am not a skater, just been a fs fan for 40+ years. So I guess that is why it's more about feelings for me. Which is why I never cared for posters on here who want to appear superior in their opinions. I don't care if you feel like an "expert", that doesn't really matter to me. I appreciate posters who just enjoy the skating and skaters and aren't afraid to say it. I do appreciate the posters who have knowledge about the technical aspect of skating and share interesting views about what the judges look for, I just think it's ok to think one team should be above another just because you enjoy their skating but I realize it's not all about that. Still, for some of us, it's hard to really tell why the tech is scored higher unless there is an obvious mistake or it is clear that the edges are shallow and wobbly, or they skate slow...things like that.

Anyway, I am glad my favorite team, CPom, did so well and are the silver medalists.

I was a little confused as to why NBC brought in Papadakis for commentary, thinking there would be a recent US "name" that could do it. Then, I realized pretty much all of them (Charlie, Tanith, Greg, Kaitlin, Ben, Jean-Luc, Madison) already involved in coaching or commentary in some way. It's really cool to see so many of them continuing to contribute to the sport.
Shibs?

I had the norovirus..knocked me out for more than a few days. Madison said that it was food related..so ..I hope that she recovers quickly.

It seems that Peacock doesn’t want me to watch group 3. But I’m happy that I went out and had some good old fashioned human contact today. The lobster roll was perfect, at a good price, and the craft brewery’s version of Guinness was great. They served it at the correct temperature which was a delightful bonus. On to da pairzzzzs!

She was so hoarse. I hear you about novovirus. That is the sickest I've been in decades.

Don't worry C/B will stick around if they can't win Gold in Milan. I'm only half kidding.

Honestly I'm here for it. I like the classics in ice dance especially. It's also a really good choice for lower-ranked couples, easy to interpret, all of them have natural highlights in the music--spin goes here. Step sequence here. Weird slide thing here. Dramatik face here. And it's hard to look bad skating to Swan Lake (though C/R almost managed it) and Rach.
I may be in the minority, but I prefer classical music to the sleep inducing stuff so many couples are using now. P/C could pull that off, but that doesn't mean everybody can. It's one of the reasons Im losing interest in ice dance.

Someone please help me with this thread title. I keep trying to figure it out and failing. I know it's a movie title, but I don't get how it relates to the free dance. It's probably something really obvious and I'll feel like an idiot. 😊

Has anyone been able to find a replay of Free Dance Group 3? The only replay I can find on Peacock ends with Group 2.
