2025 Skate Canada Pairs SP PBP - Carmina BOO-rana

I think they stepped into the generic last year with both programs. Don't love this music either but wow, choreography and held edges and strong elements. Very impressed. He flips her into that upside down position in the lift and it looks accidental though, like she's about to backflip right onto the ice. I'd figure out another way to smooth it out.

The choreo feels very IAM, and I mean it in a good way for pairs. See Dubreuil with Kam/O'Shea last season LP.

American flag couple is there in the front row at the corner too, as usual. They are as memorable as the pink sweater sisters. I first saw them in the stands either in the late 90s or early 2000s (definitely 2001 Worlds) and I suspect they will be at Skate America as well.
and at Nationals, even Worlds

I remember them from 2008 Worlds, they were seating some rows above where I was

Not sure what was happening in the lasso lift with the change in positions because it looked awkward. That moment aside this is one of their best short program performances, and what a great program for them.

-1.00 = Time Violation
70.66 = 1st Place

PerMich - 3tw - fine; SBS 3t - excellent; throw 3lo - decent; lift - nice; SBS spins - good - nothing to criticize based on the camera angle; step sequence - actually pretty effective with the music; BIDS - very nice.

I actually like this SP for them! Is it different from earlier in the season? Really good (watch me hate it the next time they compete, lol).

Is there some kind of GBR requirement for the Olympics this year she's worried about?
Pretty confident they’ve nothing to worry about in that respect. They’ve been doing quite a bit of media and publicity for Team GB so they should be good to go - they’re the only skaters other than Fear/Gibson featured in the 100 days to go etc.

I’m more concerned that injuries might have flared up again. Other than F/G everyone on the likely GB team has been struggling in that respect this season. Ana’s reaction certainly suggested that more was going on than a fluke error. :(
