Not quite the quality of the short program, but still some things they can build from this performance.

The Swiss don't really skate like a team. They look like they each learned this choreography with other partners, or maybe as solo programs and have only practiced the pair elements together.

ok, only together a year I guess that makes sense.

Also the Matrix never really matrixed.

VouBou - 3tw - huge; SBS 3t+2a+1a - he doubled the 3t & they were a mess; SBS 3s - and he doubled again - lots of points being thrown away here; first lift - excellent; BODS - nice; throw 3s - so huge she couldn't control the landing and went down; second lift - nice; throw 3lo - two-footed landing; last lift - nice enough; choreo seq - okay; combo spin - eh.

That was ROUGH. This should drop behind both LaurEth and VLDigs.

I lived through the matrix of his wobbly blades on the last two lifts and somehow avoided heart failure.

A lot of promise here, but work yet to do.

I may start to uber the Swiss, so much potential for wow factor. That twist is amazing! Throws not there today and didn’t like this program as much for them, but they will be very strong in the next few years.

Are they still JW age eligible? Wonder if they’ll come back to JW for a medal shot.

Technically huge potential. I hope they work on the choreo and developing some kind of connection, not sure they looked at one another more than once in the program.

It’s almost as if she is exactly 3/4 human sized of him and it’s very proportional. There are a ton of gorilla/flea teams but for some reason this one seems especially jarring.

The twist was huge but lifts were a little scary. And obviously the jumps and throws were not good tonight. Hopefully they can continue to improve

Gave me a mini heart attack. He recovered so well though. I actually said "thank you sir" out loud. Not sure why that was the first thing that came out of me but it did.

I never did understand why Say Something got so popular for skating. I understand it was a very popular song but it's just not dynamic enough.

I agree but I did see Meryl and Charlie dance to this song in the show Love on the Floor some years ago. They danced not skated. It was so lovely and very entertaining to watch them dance together on the floor. Was intense, that song is heartbreaking.

She turns 22 in April. He turns 24 in January. So no, they both aged out of juniors at the end of last season.
