Laurin/Ethier likely to fall behind the Brits in the free too. Too many little bobbles. The tinkly piano opening really is ineffective.

That said, the Canadians have improved TREMENDOUSLY. Search my name and Ethier and you will find me ranting endlessly about how terrible his basics have been the last 3 or so seasons. He's stepped it up. Not as glaringly bad now.

Totally agree. Instead of focusing on his skating skills, now I have time to notice his rounded shoulders and how much his back drives me nuts.

It could be close. Big difference in points after the SP but the PCS here should not be near the Brits.

Agreed! I now find her far more distracting with the posture and likelihood to miss the jumps. He’s really grown into his own. I wonder how he might do with a different partner but I suspect it’s too far into his career at this point.

While they have their areas of improvement, I have a soft spot for these two and always cheer for them!

I hope this is a new program because that would explain some of the roughness.

I said it before the event started- these are the ones to watch. I saw a still photo from a competition they did last week and the twist is SO high.

His 2A is insane too. Seriously one of the biggest jumps I've ever seen.

He's not doing his triple SBS jumps though.

So even as a massive cheerleader of this team, this program is empty AF. After the throw fall, they skated around in a circle like they didn't know where the choreography was at, the very minimal choreo they do have.

The twist is out of this world, the fearlessness into the elements is great, but all 4 jumping pass elements had big issues here. And a VERY dodgy lift moment.

The TES is still massive all things considered but they should be 3rd in the free skate, with the lowest PCS yet.
