2025 Skate America Pairs Free - Slay Something (I'm Giving Up On You)

In what way? Can you clarify?
Sarah did a really great job of expressing where my thoughts are on FlorWang. To be honest, the lack of height difference was one of my concerns about them a couple of seasons ago. I was hoping Luke would grow taller, like Spencer Howe or Ryuichi Kihara, but he just hasn't and needs a smaller partner. She's not a giant or anything and could really succeed with a taller guy, I think.
I love F/W but I think they’ve just outgrown each other height wise. They’re both charming. I’d love to see them both succeed with other partners. She could use a taller partner (lifts scare me now), but growth is common coming out of juniors.

Confused how they got rights to use The Lion King? Thought that was why Maddie didn’t keep her SP for this season.

LaurEth - 3tw - okay; SBS 3s - landed; SBS 2a+1a+2a - hand down from her on the first 2a; first lift - okay; throw 3lo - bit skiddy on the landing but otherwise nice; second lift - alright; last lift - again, alright - nothing exceptionally good or bad; throw 3s - good; BODS - eh; combo spin - slow & as underwhelming as their music; choreo seq - bland as ever.

Kelly Ann Laurin/Loucas Ethier 🇨🇦
Rank after SP: 6
Coach: S. Valois, Y. Desjardins, V. Emard, A. Barabe
Music: Say Something, The Turmoil of Love

Triple Twist 2
3S
2A+1A+2A+SEQ - Kelly Ann with a hand down on the first jump
Axel Lasso Lift 4
Throw 3Lo
Hand-to-Hand Lift 4
Reverse Lasso Lift 4
Throw 3S
Back Outside Death Spiral 2
Pair Combo Spin 4

Choreo Sequence

Their performance quality is really improving this season, and while they still have room for improvement in the technical elements with the quality they are taking steps with the consistency.

121.58 = 1st Place
182.87 = 1st Place

L/E are pleasant enough, but their lines are so mismatched. Maybe not in the budget but several hours of ballet a week could help them immensely.

The base lift was a perfect example. The did a good job of coming down safely and actually getting points, but with different partners, it should be easier. Luke isn’t tall. Olivia isn’t either, but she’s tall for Luke now and it makes lifts scary or potentially dangerous. Skating is hard enough. It doesn’t have to be this hard. If you watch enough junior pairs, you see this all the time. But they stayed together because they had so much success. But going into seniors, it’s time.

I’ve loved this team so I hate wanting them to split.
