Cringe worthy voice overs in Gubanova's programme but she is so emotive and beautiful that I feel teary!

Gubanova's program feels 30 minutes long.

Gubanova has become such an emotive skater. The music is flowing through her, and this performance feels so emotionally deep. Loved that. Love love love this rebirth/renewal by Gubanova.

 

[Bunny Hop]

Gubanova - like the design on the back of her costume. Thought at first she was doing Gladiator or Spartacus as it looked a bit Roman inspired.

That loop looked wrong from the start but at least she didn't fall.

ISU - Pleeeeeaaaase, I am begging you, ban voiceovers.

This program is pleasant. Didn't grab me, but nicely done.

ETA: Oh now I see from the closeup what the back of the costume represents.

Pretty solid skate for Gubanova. Program is fine, but the Ghost musical just doesn't really do anything.

131.60 = 1st Place
197.88 = 1st Place

If Shin is clean she will be right up there in contention for a gold at events but will she ever be clean?

Shin - More classical music - Yay. Single loop - Nay.

Again, not really skating to the music, but it was nice in spite of some errors.

Shin still struggling to find her legs in senior competition.

I don't think I ever saw her make a mistake, in juniors, and I don't think she's grown much. Senior transition is just rough, I guess.

Shin feels very juniorish still, but I believe she can be very good in a few years time. Yuna Kim wasn't the most emotive skater as a junior, but she thrived when she got the right programmes.

Somethings up with her flip/toe technique back to the old days of twisting too much. Almost sure that wasn’t anywhere near rotated.

First loop in the second half was glorious, so big.

She seems kinda uninvested this entire weekend.

Trying so hard to learn to love Amber's LP, if I have to see it all season again, because I'm rooting for her. But it's hard to see what she sees in it...

Very nice skate for Amber, and the program works, and gives her something to build on.

Glenn - Yes! Good triple axel. And then almost loses the first combo to remind us that skating is hard.

Sequence was amazing.

Like the way the winding stripes on her sleeves look in the spins when she holds her arm up.

That was really good. Not perfect, but should shoot into the lead.

I think stronger music would give her more energy. This music is kinda sluggish

Just woke up in time for Amber. She's got to find a way to keep her head in the game fully after successfully landing the 3A in both programs. She did really well after the issue with the 3f+3t, and she's laid it down for Rinka & Alysa to answer.

Ooof - don't like the way she's grabbing her neck at the end of the program.
