Well, as I said, I'm awake and here for the Pairs SP! I definitely needed the sleep, though I did keep waking up from time to time and saw snippets & pieces of different skaters during both the Women's & Men's SPs. But, now, time to see what SuiHan's SBS jumps look like, lol.

Will be interesting to see what Sui/Han can do. Although, I don't think I can be swayed from hoping for Olympic gold for either Japan or Germany this year. I've moved on .... but still curious to see what lies ahead here.

SuiHan - and she's the one who goes down on the SBS 3t! 3tw - huge; throw 3lz - fabulous; SBS spins - pretty decent synch, though it got off a bit here & there throughout; lift - not as smooth on the exit as it could be but good otherwise; BIDS - quite nice; step seq - this is where it's clear they've only been back training together a short amount of time, but still quite good.

That cover of Habanera was really awful, though, btw, and should be burned. Can't believe Lori Nichol gave them that.

Not bad for a first event in almost 4 years. I thought it was his jumps we were supposed to be worried about, or was that just a misdirect.

-1.00 = Falls
72.45 = 1st Place

Pretty solid, and very comparable to where they were at the Olympic qualifier last month.

68.96 = 2nd Place

ZhaHua - 3tw - nice; SBS 3t - excellent; throw 3f - just wow; SBS spins - slooooow, far apart & not well-synched; step seq - oh, in-synch cartwheels on ice, alright then; lift - good; BIDS - really cool entrance by her where she does a handstand on his boot into it. They're not quite as refined or dynamic as SuiHan, so I expect PCS to be lower & for them to be behind SuiHan overall.

One thing I'm really confused about is how the lift is being considered a group 5 type for Sui/Han. IMO it's clearly a press lift (group 4) as performed today and should be called as such - a 0-value element.

That was a rough performance even beyond the falls on the sbs 3toe and throw 3loop. Generally sloppy, especially during the step sequence. And the sbs spins to end were so far apart, got out of sync, and he travelled.

Lucrezia Beccari/Matteo Guarise 🇮🇹

Music: Run by Ludovico Einaudi

Triple Twist 3 (2 after review)
3T< - Lucrezia fell, Matteo turned out
Throw 3Lo - fall

Coming back from injury is always difficult, and doing in an Olympic season when your entry to the is far from certain is even more difficult.

-2.00 = Falls
55.67 = 3rd Place

BecGuar - did they get rid of their Riverdance SP? It would appear so. Alrighty then. 3tw - such a light landing; SBS 3t - she went down & he had a fast turn on his landing; throw 3lo - and down she goes; yikes - this is a disaster; lift - nice; BIDS - very elegant; step seq - meh; SBS spins - again, far apart & the spacing was inconsistent through different positions. Not a good day for them.
