Better use of the music than the Canadians probably. Her individual jump technique is really something else. Almost rivals Calla Urbanski how she just flings herself into those Axels.

Crazy technique aside, I like them.

Good skate by Rebecca and Filippo to kick off the pairs fs. I thought her hand touched the ice in one of the throws but then the tracker changed from red to green, so maybe not. Nice costumes too.

How did the get positive GOE for a lift that basically came to a stop?

He lost all momentum on the Lasso lift, his arm kinda buckled going up and he held it just fine but then on the carry part, it was torture as he wasn't really moving at all.

Really good throw jumps. Not really skating to any of the music as much as having a good song and hoping for the PCS.

The judges are being so stingy with GOE for those great throws. Mostly +2s, but some +1s which is completely baffling to me.

The lift where Annika goes from frogged to straight legs would look cool if Robert was moving faster

Choreo sequence literally thrown in there to not have the end fizzle out and I like the idea of what they did with it, but just at this point bring the headbangers and Detroiters back.

I find it hilarious that Aljona did their SP, but Benoit put Aljona's choreograhy in the LP. That windmill type movement is straight outta the 2018 long, and then I think the Russians started doing it right after too.

this doesn't have the spark that the Olympic qualifier had, but maybe the Chinese Fed told them they better not do that well because Sui & Han are the chosen ones.

I agree. It was way too long.

Zhang & Huang are such quality skaters. There's such a great base here. Great pairs elements, great partnering, great musicality. Really high potential IMO if they can get the singles jumps in order.

Just joined, kinda forgot this was on. The young Chinese pair hopefully reminding the tech panel how a lasso lift is supposed to be done. Just saying, no shade, just saying.

This style really works well for them, helps make them look a bit more mature. Fantastic pair elements, just need to address the SBS issues and the pause in the middle.
