Synchro is pretty interesting these days with new elements/variations. But like singles, it has sacrificed the "wow!" factor of simple movements done spectacularly.

Team Unique's costumes are... Well, not ugly, I just am not a fan of the shade of green they've chosen for the underskirts - it's like a dark emerald/olive green and now I'm questioning whether the rest of their dress is black or a really dark/forest green. I think it's black.

What the effffff... You never ever need to add neon red opera gloves to accessorize what amounts to a black cocktail dress. Or, if you do, you need to make sure you've got some hair bling to match. Oh, and the black tights half-over your white boots? These might beat Team Olympia for worst costumes of the day.

Using the colour on the long gloves, combining it with dark dresses, makes for an interesting look. Really focuses on the eye on the arm movements, and it does remind me of Madonna's vogue. The skating skills could use some work to help build more speed, and flow through their formations.

Great skate, and performance for Les Supremes. The program really built well to the final pose, and used the power of the music to accentuate the power in their skating. Strong formations, and transitions throughout.

Beautiful skating skills, but the program was bit of a miss for me. More unusual choices of music by Muse, but they didn't quite use it fully. They have such excellent shapes, and smooth transitions on all their elements.

Not watching Synchro, that's for sure! (I can't take watching moves that are 95-99% in sync but not 100% in sync for starters.)

What happened with University of Miami team? I remember I usually see them at Worlds.

They had an amazing coach that retired around 2010. Since then they've been going through cycles of different coaches - and being a varsity program (meaning tied to a university) their skaters cycle out quite frequently as well. IIRC the university also lowered their funding in 2012ish, so they don't have the resources they once did. That means they're generally doing worse than before, but some years like last year they do have a stellar season.

It should also be noted that pre-mid 2010s they were a clear number 2. Now with Skyliners in the mix it's no longer clear.

I'm confused. My understanding is that Miami's head coach for fifteen seasons and their assistant coach for sixteen seasons are retiring at the end of this season. ?‍
