I guess I'm reading this differently than others. It sounds to me like Efimova is trying not to worry about the citizenship part - like she knows that what happens - happens. She is trying to concentrate on the skating - exactly as she should.
If that were the only thing people were basing this on maybe, but they gave equally strange and cagey answers at US Nats that has everyone scratching their heads lol

I didn't find their statement strange. It was the typical "we focus on what we can control (our skating) and let other people (lawyers) deal with the rest."

ok well I found it weird that they specifically said they were aiming for 2026 Olympics then when questioned were like "oh well we don't know our lawyers have it all under control" 🤷‍♀️

I'm with @Rukia, and it definitely seemed like that was the majority consensus from folks here at the time and subsequently as more interesting information has come to light, like confirmation of Misha's marital status. It smells fishy, though not quite as fishy as the WASA ice dance child-bride marriages.

What else would you have them say?

That's fine, except for the "Then people can push us aside and ignore us, because it would look bad if we beat the people they are sending." I think USFS has the results they'd hoped for in 4C's. I wouldn't be surprised if the first time that Kam/O'Shea and Efimova/Mitrofanov meet is at 2026 US Nats, unless a miracle happens, and they both make GPF.

With the U.S. now offering gold cards to wealthy foreigners for citizenship for the low price of $5 million dollars, I wonder if any of the non-U.S. born pairs skater can take that route for an expedited citizenship. 😜

Wait. So, are you saying for non-foreigners if they pay 5 million dollars, they will get US citizenship automatically without having to though the process of getting green card, permeant residency and stuff? Just pay Uncle Sam 5 million and you become an automatic citizen!?!?

With all that Trump has done, i truly cannot tell if this is satire or not

Apparently, Trump mentioned it today when he was signing EOs - it's not going to replace the citizenship application process. It looks like it's replacing the EB-5 visa which is for foreign investors willing to invest $1m, and will offer a streamlined/faster citizenship application process, but it won't be automatic.

I doubt that any figure skater, even someone with Fear-dad hedge fund money, would be able to qualify by just paying $5m - they have to actually invest in the country & be planning on starting a viable business with a certain # of employees. Maybe someone like Mae-Berenice Meite, who has her own start-up business, could qualify. 🤷‍♀️

Re: the “gold card,” it’s a path to citizenship, not instant citizenship. Although one never knows, I anticipate there would be a wait for a green card followed by another multi-year wait for citizenship. So I don’t think it’s going to solve any pairs or dance citizenship issues for 2026 or even 2030.

William Church now in Ice Partner Search .. the year-long partnership with Hansen did not last

This doesn't really surprise me. He's on the shorter side and it was clear by Nats that she was going through a growth spurt. It was a good partnership for her to learn pairs basics, and for both of them to get some great international experience.

Agree. They were great this fall but she looked too tall for him by Nationals. I really liked them, but I hope they’re both able to find new partners.

Is Nina Canadian?
Nope, she's American. She used to skate with Rique Newby-Estrella and they trained with the Cains.
I have some bad news for some people on this forum....
Ryan Bedard is trying out with Nina Ouellette
So, should we take news of this tryout as confirmation that Martins/Bedard are done?

Any word on Martins? She may be a good option for Danylo Siianytsia, if he's looking.

Also, not sure what, if anything, it means, but Ivan Mokhov traveled to St Petersburg, Russia last week. He posted a few now-expired IG Stories while traveling & upon arrival.

Lately, USA is just becoming musical partners, round, and round, and round you go where you end up no one knows 🎵 🎶

The thing with tryouts are, I've heard of people trying out with others before an official break up just to "make sure" especially Martins/Bedard have broken up and gotten back together before..... But if I had to guess I would say it's over between Martins/Bedard.
